lusting after granite is a very common occurrence among women climbers.

  3. the reverso is the bomb. i have a b52 but i much prefer the reverso. it's so much smoother for belaying off an anchor than the b52. imho the b52 needs skinnier ropes or else there's too much friction (or at least enough to be annoying as hell). and make sure the 'biner you're putting through it isn't too clunky either.

  13. quote: Originally posted by Gordonb: I have found this whole thing very disturbing. How if an experienced climber can die like that, can I have any chance? i don't think there has been much discussion about how much climbing experience he had. i have no idea, so i won't profess to ... but just because someone is highly respected for feats he has accomplished (like cycling or "climbing" everest) doesn't mean he's an experienced trad leader. i don't mean to say that kropp was not; just not to assume.
  14. you bringing that to smith this weekend?

  16. thanks for sharing with us. the last person i saw lead air guitar placed 12 pieces, but i know it was a lot for that route. i'm curious, what kind of rope were you using? just another link in the complex system of making climbing safer ...
  17. or just use a better pack. i see people using packs at vw.
  18. quote: Originally posted by Necronomicon: Good luck finding a partner on this site, I'm convinced most people here do more spraying than climbing. PM your stats, maybe we can get it together. you *can* find partners here sometimes. trouble is, most of them that do climb already have partners.
  19. quote: Originally posted by Greg W: Jon, with contests and all it sounds like this could be pretty organized. Are we going to put tape on our helmets with our screennames on them and wear them around the campsite? who wears helmets? (duh!) how about we ladies just put the tape on our asses since we know that's where you guys'll be looking anyway.
  20. i was at the coulee yesterday with a friend. we made a quick stop at the portapotties before going back to the feathers to climb. there was only one other vehicle there and when we left the lot it had taken off, leaving a guy in a down jacket and a hat standing there with a pack or two. i wonder if that was erden ... what an eerie feeling. eerie and sad.
  21. whoa; are those pics really from this weekend? i'm so jealous ...
  22. yeah; some of us ... we just can't stay away.
