I wonder if Matt P has any gossip about these guys. They claim (and yes, I am a little skepical) to have put up a 3,900' 5.9 and did the entire FA Free solo in 5 hours?!! It's ironical that somehow, me and Matt P have the same number of posts despite registering within 10 days of each other.

The Owner of a country gas station decided to have a promotional contest for the customers at the station. He puts up a sign that says "FREE SEX WITH GAS" Erik and Greg W drive up in their chevy, fill up with gas and request their prize. The owner told Erik to pick a number from (1) to (10), and if he guessed correctly, he would get his free sex. Erik then guessed (8) and the proprietor said, "No, you were close. The number was (7). Sorry, no free sex this time but maybe next time". Some time thereafter, Erik, again with his buddy Greg, pulled in for a fill-up (those Chevy's sure get bad mileage), and he asked for his free sex. The proprietor again gave him the same story, and asked him to guess the correct number. Erik guessed (2) this time and the proprietor said, "Sorry, it was (3). You were close but no free sex this time". As they were pushing the truck away (it had broke down again), Greg said to his buddy Erik, "I think that game is "rigged", and he doesn't give away free sex". Erik replied, "No, it's not rigged -- my wife won twice last week".

It's slightly on the heavy side, but it would be a major improvement over my kelty holofil 5 year old shiver sack. Anybody know of any drawbacks to this particular bag?

I think I am pathetically, 2 for about 20 attempts on peaks this season, it's just not happening for me this year. Pretty good learning experience, examples: don't attempt an ice route when there is only wet snow cover on the rocks and you're expected to be back at the office by late afternoon, don't encourage your partner to wear new boots that haven't been broken in on the long flat approach, do climb snow filled 45 degree approach gullies in good weather lest you be trundled and avalanched on when it turns to wind and rain, do pick partners who have similar motivation for attempting the climb. It's not fun being the frusterated "gung ho" partner (SUMMIT OR PLUMMIT) or the frusterated guy who needs to get back to town for a comittment. I've been both this season. here's to doing some cool winter climbing ps: if anyone wants to go out to big 4 and destroy some ice, let me know.

I keep wading through the other crap on this thread. Nice pics what is that a disposable camera? I probably wouldnt have gotten it from that picture, there's no morning fog so you can't really tell what direction the sun is shining from

I just looked at what is east of Slesse in the red Beckey guide. There is some nice photos of Rexford in there.

Dru, Are you implying there could be other "roadside" crags with in a short drive of Mountaineers doom featureing low to mid 5th class rock? Even anchors you can walk to?

Camped at 8 Mile Campground in Leavenworth and was dissapointed to find out it's really only 7.5 miles from hwy 2. Saturday I flailed on some stuff with my 4 yo daughter and wife, pretty fun. Sunday TRed everthing at 8 Mile rock. only one other party there. Great place to work on jamming, Classic Crack is pretty good, must lead it next time.

That's what coffee is for anyway! Everbody (yes that's EVERBODY ) have a good weekend, I wanna see some trip reports when I get back Monday. Last weekend of summer!
