it is not cold and snowy enough here for long enough for salt on the roads to cause significant increase in rust rates. when you drive back down into the lowland rain the salt washes off.

ALSO you see more wildlife cause they come down to the edge of the road to eat the salt LOOK MUMMY A DEER!

They salt in BC, our cars dont rust any more than washington cars do. BUT when they put sand and gravel on the road (like on Hwy 1) you can kiss goodbye to your windshield cause evey time you drive to the Rockies you pick up some windshield cracks or chips.
