I have come to the conclusion Michael Moorte's fatness is a carefully calculated tactic to help his common man image. Since 75% of Americans are overweight and nearly 50% obese, it helps him look like one of the people. Same with the trucker cap and puffy tongue 90's style running shoes. Maybe he's not even fat. Maybe he's just got a fat suit on. Or maybe he's really a Japanese sumo wrestler disguised as a Michigan native.
  4. so why are the US intelligence services collaborating with Syria to torture suspected terrorists then? in the COld War, I don't think the CIA sent suspected Communist agents off to the Russian gulags to be tortured did they?
  5. well i bet his boyfriend bit it then!
  6. quite honestly on james turner n face it wont matter much what kind of boots you wear - if you can put a crampon on it it will do the job.
  7. maybe some of these? on james turner they would keep your feet nice and warm and fuzzy
  8. umm hey IG did the pierced chick actually put in an appearance or was the story of the labial piercing just what the injured guy reported???? you might want to call in the investigative reporters on this one. more likely he decided to see what the suction on his pool vent felt like or some other, way way more embarassing situation - and the "There was this chick...and her labial piercing did this to me" story is just so much cover up.
  9. its a good thing the dude didnt have a prince albert if it had locked up with the chicks metal it would be serious amputation surgery time!
  10. hey rudy you don't like it when i have something serious to say that rebuts some ridiculous assertion of yours? i have developed a fair number of routes with mixed gear and bolts and if there is even one place where natural gear will go in I leave that spot for trad gear and not bolts. for 2 reasons 1) because it's cheaper and saves money, 2) because it keeps chicken, wont-place-gear sporto climbers off the routes and ensures that on busy days when the bolt lines are completely full that merely by throwing my rack in the car when I drive to Cheakamus I can have a great day of climbing without waiting in a line. trad is rad. in fact ive lugged a #4 camalot up 30 meters of bolted face just to plug it in at the crux of a route then clipped more bolts above. i think routes like this are better than fully bolted routes and there are many others who do too.
  11. isnt the dude in the pink sunhat on the right our very own gapertimmy
  12. How come Syria is on good enough terms with the US the US can send Canadian Meher Arar there to be tortured and interrogated (outsourcing isn't just for call centers) but is still considered the bad guy? Or is this rhetoric?
  13. Of the times I have been in there, mostly everyone plans on camping and I have been the only one actually staying in the hut even with 20 people there.
  14. if they forecast rain for squamish it will be sunny and hot
  15. So today Fern jumped on an old project that snoboy had scrubbed last year but never redpointed, and after an hour or two of work linked it together for an 11a/b first ascent. The route is just below Jug Slab in the Bluffs and climbs a copperhead seam thing past 3 bolts. w00t! i think this is ferns hardest ever lead? anyways i fell off seconding...
  16. yeah i cleaned lumberland up too but then some of the dirt clods from maple cream went over on lumberland after but... you could probably just tap them away with your nut tool on lead
  17. it is hard to tear myself away from browsing the super secret moderator forums while logged in as snoboy to reply to this thread as myself
  18. I am a moderate climber and if the only way I can make it up a route is to have someone retrobolt, chip and artificial-hold it down to my level - no thanks.
  19. In the Smoke Bluffs Lies a tiny crag named Lumberland. The original "Lumberland" route (10a) has been recleaned and a bolted station added to replace the rotting treestump belay. "Maple Cream" 10b/c 20m climbs the start of the GMB then moves right to two thin cracks. Mantle on diagonal crack above, wander up slab past 2 bolts then hand rail right to finish on top of Lumberland. Gear to orange TCU size plus the already mentioned 2 bolts. It took me 4 tries to redpoint so either I suck or it's 10c not 10b? FA: Dru and snoboy. In fact I am chestbeating from snoboy's computer right now. I should log in as him and ban somebody!
