i wish there were more winners of thechest beater award on that site, there are more than enough candidates out there-like the guy who is always bragging about climbing some obscure route on some obscure peak on bivouac.com - I think his name is Drew Sprayshaw or something...

i can't find that page anymore? viktor/victoria [that was a funny Ed Wood movie about transsexuals i think] how can you find a comment like that disturbing after that "news item" about yourself getting caught... you posted a few months back?? Adamson is a brawler and likes to get rowdy. my advice is don't take it personal. i've caught a few slaps from whillans myself but i dont mind cause when we met in person the free beer flowed copiously. how is the updated guidebook coming by the way viktor?? next spring or what? cause the binding on my current copy is almost completely kaput. That is pretty cocky of J.O. signing the summit register as a "car to car in a day" trip when he was half way done -on the summit with the descent left to do - some of those Red Rocks routes take longer to descend than they do to climb...

2 clove hitches, aid, bob's your uncle. or you can go the spendy route with a silent partner, safer but $$$er. your call.

I believe the amount of methane and hot air emitted moondancing makes all the other environmental impactors you mentioned pale by comparison. I believe your trolling license has expired.

Instead of selling gear you could have taken a GIGOLO assignment for a week or so, it helps to like older women, and good physical training of the body core area for pulling those roof moves. Plus you keep the gear for long aid climbs and Indian Creek.

FOUND on certain holds at Frenchmans Coulee and Smith Rocks, SUSPICIOUS WHITE POWDER Better evacuate the place it could be ANTHRAX! "If someone reports white powder found on a doughnut in a Tim Horton's we are going to rate its threat hazard very low" - an unidentified member of the BC Hazardous Materials Response team discussing Anthrax Scares on the radio.

I bet it will make spooning at those ultralight bivies more fun. Now you and your partner can see if 2 people can fit in 1 jacket!

soloed davy jones' locker with a pack fulla gear and mtn masters on for training. then went hiking, more training. then went to housewarming and hot tub, not for training.

one time, i was down in zion, bumming around in the rain after bailing on a wall route*, and i found a copy of ed abbey's desert solitaire in a mormon thrift store - after i read it i understtod how privileged i was to see rain in the desert. didn't feel so bummed anymore. * it is scary when you see the rock soften to the point where the nut you are standing on starts to track out...

5.9 A2 in the Rockies is like a5, it is the top of the grading scale. if youthink its the hardest possible thing doable you give it 5.9 a2. of course many old 5.9 a2 single pitches are now m9's... the new sandbag grade is "m6+ and they can choke on that!" when it is -30 out the plastix will keep you from getting popsicle toes. got to be LOTS of leather and thinsulate and stuff in leathers to prevent that.

They typically break either at one side of the knot, or at the hitch, shacle, or clevis. One time we were tryng to yard an old alder down with four parallel rope tied to D4, and they all broke essentially simulateously, with a report that sounded like a bomb. I have never broken a rope with a cat, when I try they just meow and bat at it. even promising some catnip tokes won't get them that motivated.
