That video is cool! That place where he falls about 20 times looks pretty hard . That part at the end where he throws his leg in, and he hasn't clipped yet. You can really tell he's maxed out 'cause he's not breathing (holding his breath, straining) until he throws the leg in, then he just starts panting, but he still can't work up the strength to clip. Cool. I wonder what kinda placement he's doing all that bouncing or hopping or whatever you call it to get back up to the rock? Looks like it must be a pretty good one eh?

You can double up the 8mm rope and do short pitches. This will work fine if you really are talking about just a pitch or two. If counting on short pitches you don't need as much gear also. 1 set of nuts. Did anybody say tri-cams? You can substitute some small tri-cams (.5, 1) for the larger stoppers if you really want to be minimal. I'd only buy a couple of hexes. Maybe a 7 and a 9. Two cams'll probably get you by: BD Camalots .75 and .5. If you got more money get a yellow CCH Alien and a #1 Camalot. Rodchester's draws specs sound good. Make sure you got enough biners for 6 draws and for racking (one per cam, couple for nuts, one for hexes). I'd also get at least one 9' length of tubular nylon to make a long runner (that you can use for bailing). One thing though, I doubt you'll be able to find any of this specialized climbing equipment at any REI store. But you might be able to mailorder .

Low-fi, DIY, hooky guitar songs with short (20 sec) noise experiments between each track. I love that shit! You are the one making yourself less credible by saying that the Enron deal is independent of the Martha deal. Enron is a big deal with respect to our economy (investors' faith in the funny money of the stock market) and also with general public outrage against white-collar criminals. Martha is one of many who are being now targeted because the feds are pressured to "make a bust" and make people feel secure in their investments. Martha looks like she is guilty and maybe she would have been prosecuted this vigorously if she were a nobody. But I doubt it. Her trial is guaranteed headlines. Keeps it in the public eye that the government is serious about white-collar crime. Bravo. I'll be clapping more when they put away Kenneth Lay, etc... the guys who swindled millions for millions. And BTW, perhaps the reason they dropped the charges of securities fraud is because they didn't have enough evidence because Martha destroyed it all? From the official story it doesn't sound like she really did anything too terrible. But the official story probably doesn't contain all the evidence that Martha flushed.

Went yesterday, the north-facing was better than the south-facing. It was cloud-free sunshine all day long!!! Couldn't believe it. Was taken totally by surprise. Major sunburns in the chucK household today. Did laps on Powder Bowl -> Bear Pits while the kids were in lesson. Then it was back to blue-square slush surfing. No lines whatsoever .
