Hey I am waxing a snowboard for the first time today, and finding it to be a major pain in the neck. First I got way too much wax on and had to scrape and re-iron, and now I'm having a hard time getting even coverage as the iron is not as wide as the board. Am I doing something wrong, or does it just take a little practice?

Also I have a standard scraper, and am not sure I am going to get a good scrape with a tool that is narrower than the board. Hopefully I can clean any striations in the wax up in the buffing phase.

I'll help you out here.

Go to the garage, grab your Skil saw and a power drill. Take the bindings off. Place the board on two saw horses lengthwise. Now using the Skil saw cut the board length wise. Now take the bindings and mount one on each length of the board, close to center.

No more problems. bigdrink.gif

Um, trust me, this snowboard is not my property. I think they are kind of, well, weird.

I waxed my skis first and it was a snap.

Worked on the snowboard a little more, not perfect, maybe less wax and a little more patience with the iron next time.

If you overapply, sometimes you need to scrape once, iron again, and then scrape again. That's what I did with the snowboard, and what I had to do a couple of times when I first started doing my skis.
