Dr_Trad_Ablazing
Battecage? Nonsense! The Doctor has nothing but admiration for his colleague, DFA. In fact, the Doctor feels quite strongly that DFA has managed to almost singlehandedly slow the (he's afraid) inevitable devolution of cascadeclimbers.com to cascadesprayers.com (it has been some time, don’t you agree, since this board has really been about climbing?). And just as DFA has at least briefly tasted both the fruits and fears of placing one’s own protection, so has this Doctor (certainly a gear specialist at heart) enjoyed the freedom of concentrating solely on the hardships of upward progress while knowing that his safety is assured by the in situ shiny bolt hanger that awaits his eager quickdraw. The Doctor would, if truth be told, be delighted to someday team up with his esteemed colleague for a day of mixed trad and sport endeavors. DFA could teach the Doctor the finer points of “scumming” with one’s foot, and the Doctor could perhaps demonstrate to DFA some of the finer points of placing nuts in opposition. Whoa! Now that the Doctor has actually said that, he surmises that some observers might describe such a pairing, should it ever grace the crags, as “nuts in opposition.” Hahahahaha! HaHa! Ha! sexual_chocolate
yeah, gotta change your writing style if you're gonna have avatars No, I think not. I do believe this DTA to be a wonderful knock-off, replete with mannerisms here-to-fore only noted in the presence of the good doctor himself. Bravo, DTA, Sexual Chocolate salutes you! iain
does everyone here often set up their first piece this way out of principle? Just wondering. I often find myself not bothering and just giving it a good outward yank to check. If my belayer is way the hell out there I'll do it. snoboy
Not neccesarily in opposition, but I sure like to know it's good for an outward pull. A nice cam, or a perfect nut is all I ask.
iain
HAHAAA! Brought a thread that belonged in Spray back from spray and into its rightful place, the main board. Gimme a medal guys.

Dr_Flash_Amazing
This, friends, colleagues, and hangers-on, is a sham, a chamois, a chemise. A shell game, a charade, charlatanery, at the very least shady. For shame!
