billcoe Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Super committee epic fail? http://www.dailykos.com/ Anyone preparing for a 2nd credit rating re-appraisal? It's probably Bush's fault. Not to worry, you got your babe Patty Murray in there as co-chair, she'll fix us all right up. Quote
ivan Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 perhaps the compromise woulda been more likely to work if, instead of draconian cuts beginning the day of the deadline passing, each party got to select a member of the opposition to eliminate? a few weeks into the impasse, seems like all the central problems to further comprimise oughta be pretty well gone, providing plenty of free space for new-age jeff smiths to arrive? sobo Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Congressional Survivor. Can we vote them off the planet? Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 As long as they don't get to fuck up another one. Quote
billcoe Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 Nope. Sorry, no vote for you. However, you may not be surprised to learn that campaign contributions have risen to those super committee members (democrat and republican) as they deliberate these weighty matters. Probably takes the urgency off coming to closure, and takes the sting out of failure. For them anyway. Someone will pay a price. Bi-partisan super-gridlock-clusterfuckage is clearly forming. http://pogoblog.typepad.com/pogo/2011/10/whats-a-seat-on-the-super-committee-worth.html Substitute the date below for today's update as the Bell prepares to Toll. Fairweather Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Don't worry, they'll pull it out. (And spray it all over our backs.) Quote
E-rock Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Never fear, the rest of Congress will save the day and just suspend the punitive cuts. Quote
ElectricEric Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 I like how they're already talking about not letting the automatic military budget cuts 'trigger.' I mean only 20% of our budget goes to them... Quote
