We need to stop doing things that start with the letter S. Cause ya know Socialism starts with the letter S.

Actually we learned from the World Cup that it is capitalism at its finest. Make as much money as you can, and treat obeying the law as a calculated business decision. Goal-preventing handball (Uruguay vs. Ghana)? Screw sportsmanship. It let's you advance to the next round.

Money is not the essential point I was trying to make. In an economic system or in a game, their are incentives to do things that are not for the common good, against the spirit of the game, against the rules, unfair, etc. And there are consequences for taking advantage of these incentives. Many times the consequences do not sufficiently outweigh the incentives.

Look at Goldman Sachs, BP, etc. They know better than to do what is right for the common man.. if they have an opportunity to gain an advantage by preventing a goal with a handball, they will take it. That is capitalism at its finest.

Yeah dude, but like, look at BP right now. They're like totally tanking. The market has spoken, the system works!

The execs of BP could care less that they're tanking -- they already have fat wallets, and the notion of the corporation protects them from personal liability. The people who will suffer are the BP employees and the folks who have invested in BP.

No doubt the BP execs will find jobs at other corporations -- these other corps are looking to take advantage of a short-term profit at expense of the common good.

Not saying that it's right or wrong -- just that it's reality.

How have you managed to maintain this level of twatness Gary? Marc Van Bommel, he of pure sportsmanship, would like to interview you.

No worries man, it's all part of the magic of "creative destruction". We'll find another planet later, you know, when we're like, richer and stuff.

Oh yeah, and we, (by "we" I mean BP's voting shareholders) transcend our temporal bodies and join the Singularity as networked iPads.

Is this supposed to be some sort of revelation or a half-assed rant? Familiar with the Ford Pinto?
