It is seriously twisted (or more likely stupid) to claim that people who blow themselves up with their victims on another continent are worse evil than those going around chopping limbs and bellies a few countries over (let's not mention any of the other methods of achieving 'collateral damage'). To claim that it is a worse evil because the perpetrators are muslims makes it islamophobic.

Actually, an organization that is motivated enough to send covert operatives to another country and blow them selves up makes them a much larger threat and much larger risk. Sword wielding African rebels don't generally pose much of a threat to the well being of the west, whom the Islamic fanatics target, so they generally are not discussed.

Funny how it comes back to discrimination with some people. We don't have a problem with Zimbabwe nationals or Roman Catholics planning suicide attacks. It's nearly a singular threat with a singular common trait, Islamic Radicalism.

You're apparently not up on your history of terrorist attacks on U.S. interests and personnel worldwide. Show us a credible report (not the a picture of 911) that supports your assertion that Radical Islam, and not other political motivations, are chiefly responsible for all the terrorist attacks on the U.S. Or worldwide against any targets, for that matter.

Good luck.

Next to the threat of a nuclear weapon, or battery of them: all of these terrorism threats totaled are but a speck on the pimple on the ass of a fly. Until the terrorists get nukes of course. A 220 Kn nuke fired off in a ground /air burst mode would make a shallow hole nearly 5 miles round across. Thats a lot of World Trade Centers inside that hole.

Really? Guess that depends on how you define "terrorist event." What about the Virginia Tech shooting? Or columbine? Or that recent mall shooting? Or remember when all those amish kids were taken hostage in that school house? Or the D.C. sniper?

sheesh. I mean, I think the world would be better off without Islam, dont get me wrong, but they are hardly the sole supplier of crazy people.

Apparently you're not up to speed on the life of Muhammed Atta during the months before his final flight. Been there. Tried that. Didn't work. Won't work. The only way to deprogram some of these zealots is by running a big electro-magnet over their hard drive--or just disconnecting the power supply. Think about how hard it was for you to shed that Catholic indoctrination--then multiply it by 1000, and subtract any hint of a secular education. Can't. Be. Done.

People die every single day, should I write a book report about each and every one? Your argument is weak so you changed the subject.

Murder is still murder, however, prioritizing threats is very much job number one. Its what allows you to enjoy your nice comfortable life and run your naive mouth on the internet. It doesn't mean there is automatically racism or fear, it is a recognition of historical data and what groups are currently doing what.

I freely admit to being insensitive. I really don't give a fuck what you "feel".

You are changing the subject because nobody was talking about "prioritizing threats". Whether we or people across the pond are the subject of the violence doesn't make something more backward or whatever.

Whether or not we are the subject of the violence dictates how we react to the threat or the potential threat. Genocide in Africa does not effect us in the same way Islamic extremists do when they destroy a building with a car bomb. Rebel Africans lack the ability and the motivation until you add in the religious components.

Your said "Islamophobe", that suggests there is an irrational fear which is ridiculous. There is a clear threat that exists within the Islamic extremist culture. There is not the same threat in groups such as Catholic Poles or Mormon Missionaries.

You are changing the subject, moron. I was answering JayB who has been claiming for the last 8 pages or so that the barbarian nature of the actions of Muslim extremists was somehow due to the Muslim faith because it was especially backward or some other islamophobic drivel. I only showed that many other types of people commit atrocities today and you somehow interjected that you couldn't care less about others.

Nope, it stemmed from you interjecting recognition of the threat was actually bigotry against Islam.

You said:

Why won't we won't stand for your bigoted claim that the Muslim religion is somehow the cause of all these atrocities? I think it's pretty obvious why considering your bloody record against Muslim people.

The Dirty Dozen

Who's who among America's leading Islamophobes

Bigots aren’t born, and hate doesn’t spring up on its own; as the song says, “You’ve got to be carefully taught.” The following list includes some of the media’s leading teachers of anti-Muslim bigotry, serving various roles in the Islamophobic movement. Some write the books that serve as intellectual fodder, others serve as promoters, others play the roles of provocateurs and rabble-rousers. Some ply their bigotry in the media’s mainstream, others in the Internet’s tributaries, while still others work talk radio’s backwaters. Together with uncounted smaller players, they form a network that teaches Americans to see Islam in fearful terms and their Muslim neighbors as suspects.

Muslim concerns trigger Pakistani Web bans

By CHRIS BRUMMITT, Associated Press Writer Chris Brummitt, Associated Press Writer – 1 hr 44 mins ago

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan blocked YouTube and many other Internet sites Thursday in a widening crackdown on online content deemed offensive to Islam, reflecting the secular government's sensitivities to an issue that has ignited protests in the Muslim country.

The move came a day after the government obeyed a court order to block Facebook over a page called "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!" that encourages users to post images of Islam's Prophet Muhammad. Most Muslims regard depictions of the prophet, even favorable ones, as blasphemous.

Supporters of an Islamist political party protested against Facebook in at least three cities in small and peaceful rallies. The government, which is unpopular among many Islamists for siding with the United States in the war against the Taliban and al-Qaida, is hoping that the website bans will lessen anger in the days ahead.

"We are ready to die protecting the honor of our beloved Prophet Muhammad," said Aysha Hameed, one of 1,000 female protesters in Multan city.

Others — mostly members of the more secular, educated elite — accused the government of blocking freedom of expression and hurting small businesses that use Facebook for marketing. Many questioned need for the entire Facebook and YouTube sites to be blocked, instead of individual pages on them.

About 20 million of Pakistan's 180 million people are Internet users and social networking sites are among the most popular, especially among those younger than 25. Pakistan's Internet service providers' association said usage had dropped by about 25 percent since Wednesday.

The offending Facebook page encourages users to post images of the prophet on May 20 to protest threats made by a radical Muslim group against the creators of the American TV series "South Park" for depicting Muhammad in a bear suit during an episode earlier this year.

"Such malicious and insulting attacks hurt the sentiments of Muslims around the world and cannot be accepted under the garb of freedom of expression," Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Basit said. "

Well, that certainly taught them that freedom of speech is foremost.

Making fun of their cultural practices is sure to make them more open to dialog. Not only is it a well proven concept but it won't provide cover for our racists to challenge their bigots. Woohoo!
