free entry? i.e., only pay for the beer? or??? (what?)

(if it's not too nasty, it's tempting to give the bike a bit of exercise...)

nice opportunity to fire up keen-ness for the upcoming season.

cheers,

Don, it is technically a free event, but everyone is strongly encouraged to buy raffle tickets, especially if you are doing the comp or drinking beer.

The stuff we will be raffling is sweet and the money is going to the Access Fund, so hopefully folks won't be shy about buying tickets.

We are donating a ton of stuff for this, should be some good prizes.

Any competitor who wears a cc.com shirt in the final I will donate $25 to Northwest Harvest, up to $200. Northwest Harvest can feed a family of 3 a meal for $0.63, that's 120 meals for those who are suffering more then your 401k right now. Send me a PM if you don't have a shirt and I will tell you how to get one.

Show up before 5 to sign up as it is first come first served. There will be a limit on the number of people who can enter the comp (overall) just because it takes time to run folks though. If you don't want to compete, but want to demo we're going to have 2 demo routes setup so you can try out tools. We're also going to have an ice block for demoing ice screws!

and tell your friends to come! The shops and sponsors have REALLY thrown down for this event!  Several ice tools, crampons, product, gift certs, etc etc etc have been donated. This will be a great community event! :brew:

Stoke!

The weather looks not so good this Sat, so come on down!

We just ordered the Islander Pale ale and Nightwatch from Maritime.

The route setters have some sick ideas, so it promises to be a great event.

As Dave said, it's first come first serve to compete, so make sure you get here early to sign up!

Call our front desk with any quesitons (206.781.9828)

The comp routes are going to be fun fun fun! You should definitely enter if you're thinking about it! No prior drytooling experience is necessary.

Also note that all of the demo and comp routes are going to be INSIDE!

Big time thank you to Jeremy, Bruce, Keith and the staff of Stone Gardens, for putting on such a fantastic and smoothly run event. And to the community for coming out en mass on a snowy night and having a ball! Also can't forget the big ballers, Chad and Dylan, for putting on a great show from their trip to China. Thanks again all!

And to all the shops and companies that stepped up and supported the event: Feathered Friends, Pro Mountain Sports, Outdoor Research, Second Ascent, CascadeClimbers.com, Black Diamond, Petzl, La Sportiva, DMM, The American Alpine Club, The Access Fund, REI, Maritime Brewing, Nuun, and La Isla, THANKS!!!!!

Great night guys! Lots of fun, and it was neat to be able to test drive some of the new tools. And great job to those who set up the comp routes  Now I just wish I could actually work them for a while :)

Maybe next year I'll actually get my ass in shape :P
