akhalteke Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 So back to the topic at hand. Latest reports state that the Russians have been luring S. Osetians into receiving passports for Russian citicenship and sending people to live there; to inflate the concentrations of Russian passport holders in the region. Georgian government states that only a handfull of families that are originally from that area remain there. The rest, are Russian transplants. This is some creepy shit. Like an exotic marine species, Russia continues to spread... Quote

billcoe Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Bush has acted in a provocative manner toward Russia from day one. We need to scrap our missile deal with Poland and let genocidal thugs like Georgia's Shakashvilli know that we aren't going to come to their rescue every time they pick a fight with a bear. oh, what a wisdom! your insight is just fucking amazing. Looks like Fairweather nailed this one 3 months ago. Today's news: hot off the presses, Gulf of Tonkin part 2. Link "TBILISI, Georgia — Newly available accounts by independent military observers of the beginning of the war between Georgia and Russia this summer call into question the longstanding Georgian assertion that it was acting defensively against separatist and Russian aggression. Instead, the accounts suggest that Georgia’s inexperienced military attacked the isolated separatist capital of Tskhinvali on Aug. 7 with indiscriminate artillery and rocket fire, exposing civilians, Russian peacekeepers and unarmed monitors to harm" 3 more pages if you click the link, but that's the drift. glassgowkiss Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 oh, what a bunch of shit! "independent military observers", who happened to be russian! we had 500 000 russian peacekeepers in poland. there were peacekeepers in Afghanistan too. these "unarmed" monitors managed to mount a pretty decisive offensive within next 48 hours. pretty fucking amazing, considering preparation to Iraq invasion were taking over 1 year and took 3 months to go into Afghanistan after 9/11. 3 more pages of neo-soviet propaganda up the ass. Bob, what russians? You need to click the link and read the entire thing, one of your countrymen was an observer. "The observations by the monitors, including a Finnish major, a Belarussian airborne captain and a Polish civilian, have been the subject of two confidential briefings to diplomats in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, one in August and the other in October. Summaries were shared with The New York Times by people in attendance at both." Quote
glassgowkiss Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 there is plenty of documents showing the influence of GRU, including top british generals. Finland, Poland are still a major target of their operations. belarus is russian by default. I would recommend for you a couple of books written by a guy named Victor Suvorov (his real name is Alexander Rezun), former GRU top operative, who escaped to England in late 70'. my point is there were russian "peacekeepers"- read occupational force. you don't mount counter offensive with the speed russians did, without major preparation. the logistics are so huge it takes several months to implement. as far as the report at hand- still- who was the polish observer (name)? still a bullshit story.
