kevbone Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 "Mr Obama is so confident in his fund-raising ability that he asked his donors this week to help Hillary Clinton settle the debts she ran up while running against him. So far, Mr Obama has raised more than twice as much as John McCain—$287m to $120m. During the general election campaign, Mr McCain, who is accepting public funds, will be allowed to spend no more than $84.1m. Mr Obama could easily have $300m to play with. Not much of the fair fight about that." Quote
olyclimber Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 yall don't even know what the mean of the word "is" is. what do you mean semantics? what do you mean by posting in spray? what do you singularly stand for? what is your meaning? break it down from the origin. Quote
akhalteke Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 This is the audacity of humbug. Mr Obama has long maintained that taxpayer-funded campaigns save the candidate from becoming obligated to private donors. Now he suggests that relying on private donors shows moral courage akin to that displayed by those who signed the Declaration of Independence. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 What is the average donation to the Obama campaign? $10? Perhaps it's a good idea that a president is "obligated to private donors" if there are 200 million of them. Quote
Dechristo Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 break it down from the origin. must you be such a seminal Seminole? Quote

Is that why he went to England to woo all the rich ex-pats for cash? Quote

Perhaps it's a good idea that a president is "obligated to private donors" if there are 200 million of them. on the Obama site..."...a mock-up of an old parchment, it boasted that over 110,000 citizens “have declared their independence from a broken system by supporting the first presidential election truly funded by the people.” do that math. $ 287mil divided by the 110000 donations is.....? Well, $2609 isn't correct, as lots of them are probably $10 donations... So this must be new math? And by lying, this one appears to be just another a lying cocksucking politician too....whats mother to do? If he can flip flop due to political expedincy this easy, what values does he truly have? What morals? And will they change tomorrow like his pledge to run with public funds? Quote

billcoe Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 We don't get fooled again We'll be fighting in the streets With our children at our feet And the morals that they worship will be gone And the men who spurred us on Sit in judgement of all wrong They decide and the shotgun sings the song I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around me Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again The change, it had to come We knew it all along We were liberated from the foe, that' all And the world looks just the same And history ain't changed 'Cause the banners, they all flown in the next war I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around me Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again No, no! I'll move myself and my family aside If we happen to be left half alive I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky For I know that the hypnotized never lie Do ya? YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! There's nothing in the street Looks any different to me And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye And the parting on the left Is now the parting on the right And the beards have all grown longer overnight I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around me Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again Don't get fooled again No, no! olyclimber Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 unfortunately a side effect of having our form of government is the politicians. now if you don't love it, get the hell out. Quote
billcoe Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) No, surprisingly what you appear to not know is that you're gonna get fucked either way Porter. Thats the fact. Ask all the Woodrow Wilson supports how it goes down when political expediency gets in the way. Your man just tipped his hat that he's no different, only the packaging on the outside has changed. If he can change his position so easily on this on this, it will be easy to switch opinions on every other issue or thing he professes to believe (that today) are right and true. I really had hopes for the guy, but I can see that this is the same bus line, and in fact, perhaps now much less certain to reach a professed destination than the other bus, which has been reliably in service for many many more years than what appears on the outside to be a better "new" improved bus. A new bus that has some HUGE (for me) unseen problems. Edited July 1, 2008 by billcoe Quote

Your man just tipped his hat that he's no different, only the packaging on the outside has changed. you're making assumptions about what i'm assuming, and you're incorrect bill. and if you do think there will be NO difference in the result of one of these two being elected...well you're the one who is mistaken. the chances of either of them turning around the train? unlikely. but if you don't have the AUDACITY to hope , then I feel sad for you and your children. as a parent i feel reponsible to at least find some glimmer of hope, even if the road might be tough. otherwise you're just a debbie downer.
