KellyS Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I just found this on the official DOT site. It seems like there are some important new discoveries taking place in Newhalem. I knew there had to be a silver lining to this giant, snowy cloud. Maybe they'll leave this one next to the road... Quote
Hugh Conway Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 There are a bunch of cool photos at the WSDOT flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/wsdot Quote
Jens Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Has that bolting moratorium been lifted yet? I have my eye on at least two lines. Quote
AlpineK Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 The project pictured in the middle of the highway won't stay. Quote
denalidave Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Maybe they could dump one in my back yard? Quote
kevino Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I wonder what the shipping charges are. Quote
CPOly Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I've been meaning to call or send an email to find out what prices are like, seems pretty interesting. Quote
jonah Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 About the moratorium on new routes - keep an eye on the Washington Climbers Coalition and Access Fund websites for an official announcement. It's going to be an exciting season. Quote
letsroll Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I am gearing up for the first accent of the NF. Lining up the triple rack and the portaledge. Think a 23 day accent will be enough time. After that I am going to put up 4 bolted lines with bolts 6 inches apart for safty, no runouts. Looks a bit hairy up there. Quote
MPaul_Hansen Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Re: Major Newhalem Developments- NPS document, the GMP General Management Plan for Ross Lake NRA This includes a reference to "Establish Climbing Management Areas". See post in Access Forum, under saving N. Cascades climbing. Quote
