rob Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Anybody doing anything cool? I've got a hot date, we're going to see Clinton Fearon. Quote
rmncwrtr Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 We are attending a friend's 40th b-day party. It's going to be an elegant catered affair with lots of free alcohol. Quote
sk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 i think we are going to stay home and watch the ball drop on the tube with the kiddos. It sounds kinda quite but i am realy looking forward to it Quote
kevbone Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I will be happy if we make it to midnight! Quote
sk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I will be happy if we make it to midnight! Â Thing One is old enough that he wakes me up at midnight now Quote
rmncwrtr Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 That's what we did last year, Muffy. And what we'd be doing again if we hadn't been invited to the birthday party. We actually celebrated and watched the ball drop at midnight east coast time so we could put the kiddos to bed and then have some time to ourselves. Quote
sk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 thats a great plan!!! i don't think the Things would go for it though. Quote
selkirk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 That's what Drambuie is for. Tastes' good and makes kids sleepy Quote
rmncwrtr Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Well, you could always set all the clocks in the house ahead three hours. Explain the lapse in time due to a mass alien abduction. They're young. They might buy it Quote
selkirk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Recently saw a book called "Lies to Tell Children" was full of stuff like that  By the author of The Bunny Suicides, volumes I and II which I highly recommend. Quote
mattp Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Try some pre-emptive interference. Start with acknowledging the turn of the new year at the international date line and celebrate it every hour around the globe. They'll be ready to knock off by the time you reach New York (unless they're like my friends, who just work themselves up into greater frenzy and carry on until we reach the What-The-F&*k Islands, just short of January 2). Sherri Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I'm considering having either one decent beer or one good cocktail for new years. Â Kelly is a reluctant teetotaller, as well. Her special, once-a-year drink is a Black Butte Porter. Â Happy New Years, Feck! Â Â Quote
