Gary_Yngve Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 The 2006 and 2007 calendars were a bit disappointing because they were mostly repeating 2002-2005, but the 2008 calendar has all new material, including: some shots w/ Cerro Torre in the background a great shot with offwidth thutching check it out... http://www.stonenudes.com/ Quote
Off_White Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 The naked no shoes free solo in the offwidth shot is pretty hard core. Oh, not in terms of sexual content, it's probably even work safe, but it seems like a gnarly thing to do with all that bare flesh. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 WTF, he should be free-soloing that route! Quote
spotly Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 The shot where she's got a shoe on one foot but not the other seems kinda odd. I suspect most viewers wouldn't notice anyway though Quote

Sherri Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 If it's "intended to inspire and celebrate the human form," as its copy states, why does it feature only female humans? Quote
Sherri Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I don't disagree with that. But if they are being forthright about their intent, it seems copy should read, "celebrating naked women." The "human form", as it were, includes both sexes. Quote
chirp Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 If it's "intended to inspire and celebrate the human form," as its copy states, why does it feature only female humans? Ahh, but he does cover both sexes...look closely at ALL the images. Quote
pdawg Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 You're right, Sherri, and we should all be outraged: outraged, shocked and dismayed. If you were taken in by that blatantly misleading copy and purchased a calendar by mistake, I want you to know that you can send it to me. For God's sake, don't throw it into the garbage. That's exactly the sort of sexist filth that could blind an unsuspecting sanitation worker. Quote
G-spotter Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 You can buy the Stone Dudes calendar too Sherri Quote

Sherri Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 You can buy the Stone Dudes calendar too Sherri Thanks, G! You saw right through my passive-aggressive ruse! Quote
Trillium Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 If it's "intended to inspire and celebrate the human form," as its copy states, why does it feature only female humans? There actually was a men's calendar a few years ago. Disappointing that he dropped it. Personally I wish he'd put together a coffee table book with an even mix of men and women. He's a fantastic photographer, and men and women (especially climbers) are both beautiful. Quote

He's a fantastic photographer, and men and women (especially climbers) are both beautiful. That's a great concept for a book--more along the lines of what I'd consider to be a celebration of the beauty of the human form interfacing with nature, one that captures the essence of what occurs during climbing when it's muscle against granite and gravity. Hell, I'd even pose for that one. Some of the T&A shots in the calendar seem like a wasted opportunity. There's plenty of other places to buy that, if that's all you're looking for. Personally I wish he'd put together a coffee table book with an even mix of men and women. He's a fantastic photographer, and men and women (especially climbers) are both beautiful. Five years ago, Dean's plan was for an eventual coffee book. Dunno if that's changed. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 I have a copy of the men's calendar at home, and I don't believe any junk is showing in any shot. (if there's interest, I'll bring it to a pub club or to ropeup if i can find the time to go) Quote
