matt_warfield Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Wow. I haven't been so lucky. I've only seen them on tv. Late night I hope. Wouldn't want any little Granites to see that! Quote
AlpineK Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I ran into one once. Boots and hat, that's all. Mostly I was concerned because he was hiking alone. Boots? There's no need for boots. A buddy of mine only used to wear boots because his boss made him. He wore cloths hiking, but I once went to ski down from Muir with him and he gained about 1000' in bare feet in the snow before he broke down and put his boots on. Ok so I'm willing to rule out the loincloth, but ya gotta have the spear to get a decent dinner. Quote

high_on_rock Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 It all goes back to the body image socialization, and my lack of ability to overcome the negitive socialization of my upbringing; but I still think that some people should be naked, and some of us jst should never be naked in public. My bad. Quote
Mrs. G Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 (edited) Anyone recognize this peak? http://bp1.blogger.com/_C0WHpu4nqfQ/RoXrDrfEOlI/AAAAAAAAAWE/Kx1A1RB_GQM/s1600-h/JohnsonRidge_6-26-2007+007.jpg *disclaimer-this is not me, but it is from a website dedicated to hiking in the nude in the NW. Kat_Roslyn Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 You guys should try naked skiing! Last summer I was up on Baker, on the back side of Table Mt. for a little morning jaunt. There was no one around. I whipped off my clothes, only leaving my giant straw sun hat, and prayed I didn't fall and get corn burn on my patootie! Quote
lizard_brain Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Naked skydiving. I have a great picture of myself hanging from the wing strut of a Cessna wearing nothing but a parachute and running shoes. Quote

Mrs. G Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Lucky for me our little ones are just the fur-covered variety. Ducknut-I don't get it. Am I just dense? Quote
matt_warfield Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) Mrs. G.'s identity was disclosed earlier in a thread on hot climbing chicks, Ducknut. She is indeed the spouse of someone who's screen name includes "granite". Edited July 14, 2007 by matt_warfield Quote

RogerJ Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I think there is an opportunity for a joke about pulling the rip cord over and over again here, but I am not sure. -r Quote
Dechristo Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 ...investigators are stymied as to why the deceased was found with both arms extended over his head, his hands locked in a death-grip on what was originally thought to be an un-inflated circus balloon... Quote
