alpinemorg Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Ok, I know it's out of print and none of the stores around here have them. How can I get my hands on a copy of "Rock Climbers Guide to Frenchman's Coulee"? I have to beg one from some kind folks each time (this weekend will be no different). Thanks. Quote
rob Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 For lack of anything better, "Weekend Rock" has a smallish vantage section in it, I think. Quote
catbirdseat Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I remember trying to find my way around Vantage the first time using a copy of Smoot's Climbing Washington. It's a long story. I'll tell it to you on the long drive out there. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Are you reffering to the latest guidebook by Yoder? I got mine at the store in Ellensburg and they seemed to have quite a few, but that was more than a year ago. Not sure if you check there. Quote
kevino Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Mountain High has no guide books for vantage. They are waiting for the new one, which has no apparent release date. Quote
catbirdseat Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I last spoke to Jim Yoder about a year and half ago. At that time he just finished the Tieton Guide and as a little burned out. I asked when the next Vantage Guide would be out and he said sometime in 2007, but you know how it goes. There aren't a huge number of new routes to document, but probably enough to warrant a new edition, rather than a reprint. Quote
kevbone Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Speaking of Jim Yoder. I attended a slide show put on by him about climbing in WA. This was 2 years ago. I met him there. Nice guy. Exactly 11 days later I was climbing in Arizona at Jacks canyon and Jim Yoder walked up and climbed right next to us. It’s a small world out there. Quote
altasnob Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I've heard the library in Ellensburg has a copy Quote
jmace Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 what about that funny little gas station just outside of town..they had lots last year..cant remember the name but if you do a search here you will find it...also Jim was selling them at the crags this weekend last year Quote
alpinemorg Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Does anyone know how I can contact him to see about getting a book? Quote

rob Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Any recent news on this? Have they printed another edition yet? Anybody wanna sell me one? Quote
sprocket Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 I was down at Smith a month or so ago and Jim Yoder came up and introduced himself. I asked about the new guide and he said it is at the printers but has several jobs ahead of it so it might be a while but it is on the way. Quote
kurthicks Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 I'll sell you mine. shoot me a PM with what you're thinking. Quote

plaisirclimbr Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I've been trading emails with Marlene this week. Sounds like it will be out next spring. Quote
builder206 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Given the interest level, they could make more money selling the draft online than waiting for the hard copy to be printed. Quote
drater Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 well, it is the best winter crag in the state. Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 on this site, if you scroll down to frenchman coulee and follow the links, there is a very nice pdf guidebook. http://wenatcheeoutdoors.com/ it is divided into separate sections example: http://www12.digimktg.com/woo/PDFArticles/VantageG-Sunshine.pdf Quote
Draagun1 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Any news on the new guidebook? Spring is just about here and anxious to get his new book. Quote
Git-er-dun Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 sickie GUIDE BOOK UPDATE-- The third edition of Frenchman Coulee will be delivered to our printing company next week (week of April 14th) and it will be camera ready as they say. It will then take the printing company about three weeks to print and bind. So that puts it in the stores in one month - say May 5th or May 12th, assuming stores have contacted us and placed their order. You might want to inquire at your favorite climbing store so they will place their order sooner verses later.... MF & JY Quote
Git-er-dun Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 The new Coulee guide hit the stores yesterday. Quote
