lancegranite Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 You should watch it in Mexico, people down here are freaking out over it! Me myself, have never been a sports fan, but have enjoyed the world cup so far. I can hear the bar across the street from my apartment erupt into cheers when a big play happens. By british friend has been very patient, explaining the game and the uber-fierce national rivalries. Quote
TREETOAD Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Finding soccer boring is one of the first signs af A.D.D. IT just won,t fit into that seven second attention span/ made for T.V./go get a beer and don,t miss a thing games that are unfortunately so common nowadays. Quote
ryland_moore Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 The majority of people on this earth can't be wrong! Quote
G-spotter Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Once you learn to find World Cup football exciting you can move on to Cricket. Quote
murraysovereign Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 And let's not forget baseball - America's gift to insomniacs the world over. Â At least in soccer the players move about on the pitch, instead of just standing around scratching their balls and spitting tobacco juice. Quote
Jens Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I'd rather watch little kids play soccer than world cup. At least the kids all attack the ball at once. Nothing is as boring as a one to nil world cup soccer match. Quote
DonnyBaker Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I work with this mexican guy, jaun. He's pretty cool, he asked if he could come over and watch the soccer cup caus he dosen't have espn, Man, I spit in his face. Quote
dom Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Anyone know of any sports bars in Olympia that will be showing the World Cup? And what time they open at? Cheers Quote
JoshK Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I am listening to the neighboring English pub go crazy. Soccer (err...."football") == great sport to play, boring sport to watch. Â John Stewart had a world cup guide on the other night. He had some tips for distinguishing between an "exciting" scoreless game and a boring scoreless game. Perhaps I should have watched... Quote
olyclimber Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 if you take a look at how euros do it, apparently soccer involves a lot of beer, at least for the fans. that might be the difference between being bored or not. Quote
foraker Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 all televised sports = boring. i understood cricket for all of about 15 minutes once, then my brain rejected it and i forgot. Quote
