Yeah, this shite is not new. These phisher-fuckers make sites look exactly like the real thing, except it directs elsewhere, then you're fahqed once they get your ID info. I do not think the death penalty is too strong a sentence if they catch these fuckers. madgo_ron.gifmadgo_ron.gifmadgo_ron.gif

Fuck, beat this.

I'm at work and my cell phone rings. I normally have the ringer off during the day, but I keep noticing that someone with a restricted number keeps calling. Anyways I leave work and this person calls again, so I pick up. It's some fucking Indian dude blabbering about how he needs my fax number, and I'm like "who the fuck are you?" and he is like "you are Jon living at such and such and you own the domain blah blah and we need your fax number so we can send you important documents for registering your domain". I was like WTF!!!??? Some how these dickwads got my phone number from domain registration or something and were essentially phishing or spamming me on my phone.

I had a similar deal with the dude asking for my Dept. of Education Student Loan pin number. I told him to go lick my balls.

I get actual mail and tons upon tons of spam because of this. They need to have an option to register a domain where they do not publish the WHOIS information.

I think this is how places like GoDaddy and Register.Com make up for their cheap prices. They can sell your information, unless you pay them not to. wazzup.gif

Protecting this information from advertisers, spammers, phishers, etc. should be free, but that will probably have to take an act of Congress to get instated.
