spicoli11 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Nice bunglehead....I have that one on vinyl. It's to bad he had such a short career Quote
bunglehead Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Carlos Santana said that the reason he started palying guitar was because he was working at the Ramada where Sete was playing, and when he heard him he just had to play the guitar. The reason he got the gig at Monterey was because Diz demanded he be put on the roster. He used to go down to the Ramada to jam with him, he liked him so much. Quote

curtveld Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 I can't believe no one has mentioned Nigel Tufnel yet. Good point. Though an amazing axe-man, many would say Tufnel’s greater talent was as a lyricist. Indeed, some critics consider his work (particularly the Smell the Glove album) on par with the likes of Byron or Shelley! Quote
Dru Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Since this is turning into major music-nerd wankfest let me also mention Buckethead and Fred Frith. Quote
