minx Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 the plans are in their infancy but the date has been set! 9/30 - 10/2 @ the eightmile campground. yee haw! come party with your friends, drinking buddies and future climbing partners. i personally will briefly worship anybody who can add to the festivities. we're open to all sorts of ideas and suggestions as long as they're mostly legal. we'll need some firewood, maybe a small portable generator (especially if Marie is coming ) any sort of tunes, slides, beer, other activities. seems like it might a good thing if some of you more experienced folks would be willing to escort some of the newer folks around to leavenworth's finest bits of granite. if anybody is feeling motivated and wants to show some slides or do demonstration we can get that organized to. tell us what you want!
olyclimber Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 If you think you'll want your own campsite, now would be a good time to get it reserved. PM me if you have a generator we can use.
mattp Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 The group site, which you guys have reserved, holds lots of people so it should be clear that nobody HAS to have their own site and no advance registration or reservation is necessary to attend. The Icicle Creek area offers a variety of climbing / hiking / etc. opportunities at pretty much all levels of ambition. The annual ropeups have offered a fun oportunity to get to know some of the faces behind the spray names and, for some, an opportunity to explore a new area or even a new sport. Make it happen!
Kitergal Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I'm so there!! No need for a generator...just lots of batteries!!

Billygoat Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Is someone bringing the brats? yep! you can! I thought it wasn't a kid friendly event Hey Archey, what do you mean by "yum"?!?
Billygoat Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I can bring some meat, beer and firewood. Anybody have a salad and some matches?
Squid Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Anybody have a salad and some matches? obviously, the commander is unfamiliar with the 'tossed salad flambeau'
Billygoat Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 I really hope I don't have to start explaining myself
SnowByrd Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Is someone bringing the brats? yep! you can! Hide those from Marie...ya never know what she might try if she runs out of batteries...
Billygoat Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Well, if you cooked them afterwards it would prolly be ok... Problem is, they don't really firm up till ya cook 'em. They also begin to 'hook" at that point. In some ways that could be advantageous.
knotzen Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Oh, wait a minute--how did I get dragged into this?
