Paco Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Ramuta's Dropped off shoes on Tuesday and picked up another fine resole on Thursday! Quote
specialed Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 I guess Ramuta's son does the rock shoe work. He does an awesome job. Unlike another rock show resoler in town who gets some glue sniffing flunkies to butcher your rands. Quote
matt_m Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 I'll always send my shoes to him - he does better soles then the manufacturers. Quote
RuMR Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 yup...just picked up a 2 pair...damn flawless!!! Can't be beat...comfortable, broken in shoes w/ a sole as good as new... Quote
flashclimber Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Just picked up my re-soles today...didn't even bother to check them out...that's how good he is! One time i needed a resole done in 3 days. Had an unexpected trip to Smith Rocks. Drove the shoes to his store, picked them up 2 days later, and wore them on the 4th day to climb. Cant get much better service than that. They do rush jobs for repeat customers if need be. A few years before that I drove my buddy to Dave Pages shop in Ballard. He left them there a week before. Shoes weren't ready on time and the craftsman ship was pretty bad. Maybe it was just that pair of shoes, but I've never gone back again. Stone gardens has a drop off and pick up service for Ramuta! Distel32 Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 never used him, but his web site has some fuckin' boulderer on rope, WTF!? he does look cute though.... Quote
RuMR Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 John kicks ass... you want your shoes done fast, right, and cheap w/ no delams? Go to Ramutas! Quote
catbirdseat Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 http://www.ramutasresoles.com Apparently he's not using Stone Gardens as a drop off point anymore, but the three Vertical World gyms are still available. REI used to do it but not anymore. How about Feathered Friends? Do they still ship? Quote

REI used to do it but not anymore. How about Feathered Friends? Do they still ship? John Ramuta moved to Montana. His parents still have their shop in Seattle for regular shoe stuff. They are really good at regular shoe repair. If anyone knows if they ship stuff to John from the Seattle store, that would also be good to know. 'Course dropping them off at the gym still looks like the easiest option to me. Quote
selkirk Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Yep, Ramuta's downtown ships the climbing shoes to Montana to John Ramuta to resole. The time frame seems slower than I remember ( A friends have been out for about a week and a half, and aren't back yet.) I imagine the quality will be the same though. Quote
powderhound Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I am in Montana can I ship directly to him? Quote
Dechristo Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I imagine you could ship directly to him if you lived in Albuquerque - if you had his address. Quote
selkirk Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Oops, the shoes are already back, so more like a 1 week turn around time. Quote

powderhound Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 John starting to brag about your work here in Bozeman, you should contact Spire Climbing center in bozeman and work out a shipping deal with them. Quote
