Chica Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 I've done a bit of weekend research but am still having a hard time figuring out the least of the worst places to be this weekend for a 3 person climb either multi-pitch rock or snow/glacier. Whatever our best chances are...any thoughts? Quote
Lambone Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Mt Shasta...at least that's where I'm going. our chances are questionable Quote
Chica Posted June 10, 2004 Author Posted June 10, 2004 That is kinda' what I am thinking about everywhere! May have more hangin' out than climbing goin' on! Quote
matt_warfield Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 It is a classic weekend to avoid unsettled weather west of the crest and go east of the mountains to drier climes and warm rock climbing: Leavenworth, Smith Rock, etc. Quote
Chica Posted June 10, 2004 Author Posted June 10, 2004 We were hoping for Wa pass or Darrington area, but I think (know) you are right to increase our chances! Quote
Paco Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Yeah, Leavenworth or Smith Rocks would probably be your best bet, but I'm going to take my chances in Squamish with a few others. If it rains I'll just eat awesome french toast, drink coffee, and bug thelawgoddess while she works. Quote
Zoran Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Hozomeen North Peak ... I'll write report on Monday. Z Quote
Jim_T Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Yeah I've got the same problem. Wanted to go to WA pass for the last two weeks but ended up changing our plans. I'm tempted to just go anyway this weekend! Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 Quit bitching, we need all the rain we can get Quote

murraysovereign Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Five rainy weekends in a row... Â Actually, it's been five rainy forecasts in a row. They're not the same thing. With the exception of Memorial Day weekend, we've had pretty good weather in Squamish all the way through. Not hot and sunny, for sure, but not raining much, either. Quote
