lummox Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 i read this bullshit on msn.com that the average guy has 13 inch biceps. that is pretty big. wtf? they averaging in fatass people or what? Quote
fern Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 why how big are yours? c'mon Bulging Biceps Chestbeat thread!! ....you must feel inadequate or something to bring it up Quote
robert Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Come on. I just measured my spindly little arms and I have a 13in bicep. Surely the vaunted lummox must have 20in guns. Quote
Jedi Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 That's because the average American is fat. I am surprised it is that small. Maybe a better survey would have been, "the average bicep on some none obese person is...." I think we should all adapt to overweight people so it is the norm so we can become the land of big people where everyone feels comfortable. Besides, if airlines start making the seats 4 times wider, I can actually sleep laying down on my way out west. I could order the "small happy" meal at micky D's and pay next to nothing. My wife's coworker is 5'6" and 200lbs after she had her stomach stapled. Her husband is 5'8" and 300lbs. The poor guy can eat 1 1/2 large pizzas. I bet his biceps are a beautiful sight. Maybe I am shooting my mouth off cuz I've had too many cowboy sodas tonight Jedi Quote

slothrop Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 12.5" if I flex, 12" if I don't. And that's after a full set of 16 oz. curls! Quote
Blake Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 The Tricep accounts for more mass than teh bi on an arm measurement anyways. Quote
scott_harpell Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 13 1/4' but with my 6'9" arm span, it looks a wee bit smaller though. Quote
Bronco Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Probably of greater interest to those interested in their bicep measurement, the old rule of thumb for an asthetic male body was for the circumfrence of your neck, bicep and calf to each measure approximatly 50% of your waist measurement. Same goes for your thighs/chest. It seems like this was the proportions most Greek sculptors used. Quote
Bronco Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 The rest of you conceitful bastids can compare your body to the greek standard here: http://www.sandowmuseum.com/ideal.html Quote
robert Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 What is up with that calculator? It said my ideal chest size is 208 inches. Quote
Bronco Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 What is up with that calculator? It said my ideal chest size is 208 inches. You may have accidently entered your waist insead of your wrist measurement. Quote

Dru Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 i figured out, even though i don't have a tape measure, i can use a piece of string and then measure the string with the ruler Quote
