Scott_J Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Anything with a fast tempo, lots of bass, unintelligible lyrics and it must be LOUD! Quote
lancegranite Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 (edited) Flowmotion The best band between Sehome and Nisqually. Your kids will be impressed you listened to these guys before they were big...Enjoy. Edited November 5, 2003 by lancegranite Quote
scott_harpell Posted November 5, 2003 Author Posted November 5, 2003 what kinda cocaine have you been snorting? funk-bluegrass-blues is not coke-work music! that is stoner music... Quote
E-rock Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 I love what hippies always seem to think is the "next big thing". Quote
iain Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 and then they shun the band's fans with disdain after they are popular! hence the folks parading around with Phish t-shirts from '94 and stuff Quote
E-rock Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 '94! I was listening to them WAY before then. They were already in the mall record stores by '94! FUCK! Quote
Fejas Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 'Crystal Method' The name says it all... You want some thing a little complex. it keeps the subconsious moving at the same rate as the consious. and keeps the insanety from setting in untill day four... Quote

E-rock Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 It's not really aggro, but fi I want to stay up I listen to my pixies tapes, or Modest Mouse (the lonesome crowded west) which is great driving music, or Sleater Kinney. Electronica doesnt' keep me awake, and I don't like metal. Quote
scott_harpell Posted November 5, 2003 Author Posted November 5, 2003 whatever... i am a student... and i get really good grades. that just doesn't happen naturally anymore. especially with 20 semester hours. Quote
Fejas Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Dead Kennedys... Modest mouse, good pick E-rock... Pennywise! Quote
E-rock Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 Yeah Dead Kennedies, and the Stooges are really good. Also go out and get yourself some old Television. They just reissued their stuff, I can't wait to get my hands on it. Quote
Dru Posted November 5, 2003 Posted November 5, 2003 You gotta listen to annoying, grating, atonal music played fast and loud to stay awake. Azonic Halo is one hour of Bill Laswell and Andy Hawkins playing NOTHING BUT SUPER LOUD GUITAR AND BASS GRATING FEEDBACK It is guaranteed you can't fall asleep to it. Quote

Reminds me of my "Last Exit Live in Tokyo", except with the addition of Peter Brotzmann. It's pretty much the same thing. Quote

I don't find Brotzmann grating... just a master free jazz sax player.... saw him with the Tentet at jazzfest a few years back...that was LOUD!! This Azonic Halo is serious harsh. The only other Laswell stuff that comes close is the stuff with Praxis 2 with Buckethead and, unsurprising, Andy Hawkin and the rest of Bling Idiot God, plus John Zorn.... Quote
