Following their return, Bishop and Josephson, who is on the staff of Alpinist magazine, will participate in a national speaking tour, also sponsored by Moonstone. Photographs from the expedition will be available following the team's return at www.moonstone.com

rolleyes.gif Whatever. I've always thought the excuses for why they weren't able to climb the route the most revealing. Besides, the true marketing BS juggernaut was Marmot's Climb Sepu (It included a magazine poster for god's sake!)

I thought that there were at least two routes up the south face that had been climbed, but never repeated?

The South Face is miles wide and there are numerous ribs that have been at least attempted (and I thought climbed). Maybe their route is the real South Face that has never been climbed....

See JoJo's article "Stupid is as stupid does" in this year's CAJ p 58-63.

They climbed a new route on the S face of Mt. McArthur, Huge in Europe (Alaskan IV+, 5.7 WI3) and Night Shift a variation on the N ridge of the McArthur. They attempted the SSE buttress on Logan reaching a sub summit at 9600'. The ridge beyond remains unclimbed but has seen several attempts.

Anybody hear how Bishop, Josephson and Searl's attempt on the South Face of Logan went ( or is going )?

A friend of mine just got back from Logan. His team flew in the same day that Josephson was flying out, and they had a chance to talk to him. Apparently, the weather up there has been crap this year. JoJo and crew barely got out of their tents, let alone onto the South Face, before they called it off.
