I've always thought the excuses for why they weren't able to climb the route the most revealing. Besides, the true marketing BS juggernaut was Marmot's Climb Sepu (It included a magazine poster for god's sake!) Quote
Stefan Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Does Brent Bishop live/work in the Seattle area or is he still in Montana? Quote
Rodchester Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Stephen: Â My understanding is that he is in Seattle most of the time... Â Quote
Tod Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 I thought that there were at least two routes up the south face that had been climbed, but never repeated? Â The South Face is miles wide and there are numerous ribs that have been at least attempted (and I thought climbed). Maybe their route is the real South Face that has never been climbed.... Quote
fern Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 mt logan  I think the face between the Hummingbird and the Warbler is considered the "South Face" ? Quote
Ade Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 See JoJo's article "Stupid is as stupid does" in this year's CAJ p 58-63. Â They climbed a new route on the S face of Mt. McArthur, Huge in Europe (Alaskan IV+, 5.7 WI3) and Night Shift a variation on the N ridge of the McArthur. They attempted the SSE buttress on Logan reaching a sub summit at 9600'. The ridge beyond remains unclimbed but has seen several attempts. Quote
Dru Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 How is it you have your CAJ and I dont have mine yet Stupid chilliwack post office Quote

A friend of mine just got back from Logan. His team flew in the same day that Josephson was flying out, and they had a chance to talk to him. Apparently, the weather up there has been crap this year. JoJo and crew barely got out of their tents, let alone onto the South Face, before they called it off. Quote
glassgowkiss Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 aaaaa... the weather......i guess stone will have to wait a bit with their glory wank tour. What's pissing me off so much about marketing- all this chicken choking hype before the event.... Quote
Ursa_Eagle Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 then you have Viesturs... you hear nothing about him until "he's poised to go for the summit" Quote
