gregm Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 this is propbably too much to ask, but it never hurts to ask. is anyone aware of an online display of canadian topos, seeing as toporama is been "temporarily offline" for a long time now, and topozone isn't interested in including 'el norte'? Quote
Dru Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 spend the $75 and buy em. our country is much bigger than yours and someone had to survey it all. why should you get the benefit of their taxpayer subsidized work for free Quote

Dru Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 your country has no true wilderness so why would anyone need a map. just look for the lights of the nearest superhighway/McDonalds/espresso hut and aim towards that if "lost" Quote
Sphinx Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Too bad all the cool people don't live in Canada. Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 Hmm. I wonder if this board has more 1) Canadians who wish they were Americans or 2) Americans who wish they were Canadians?? Quote

JoshK Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 No, but it's USEFUL for growing crops. Anyway, the second sentence sums up my point. Quit bagging on the US, you sound like a fucking prick. I'm sure your a nice guy, but the anti american shit is getting old. Quote

Okay, I just had to check on this because in my mind I just didn't think this was right. In my Webster's dictionary in the Geography section it says: USA.........3,615,123 sq. miles (9,399,320 sq. km in Dru numbers) Canada...3,851,809 sq. miles (10,014,703 sq. km in Dru numbers) Result: Canada is only 6.5% larger than USA. I wouldn't say that's "much bigger." Alaska making itself useful for once. Quote
gregm Posted April 7, 2003 Author Posted April 7, 2003 actually, it would be really nice if the canadian topos were available on cds like the american ones, but i'm sure it's beyond their technical abilities. canada does, however, pride itself on it's cheese making technology(?) Quote
philfort Posted April 7, 2003 Posted April 7, 2003 The best thing about toporama, is the popup that appears when you start looking at the maps, telling you to bow down to Her Majesty the Queen, etc.... btw, toporama is still online, so I don't know what you are complaining about. Quote
