genepires Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 that is going to be hard to watch knowing the ultimate outcome. I feel like I would be screaming and crying in between moments of pure joy. Quote
Bronco Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 No kidding, bring the tissues in case it's "dusty" in the theatre... Quote
olyclimber Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I know he did stuff that was unfathomable to me and now I guess there is a movie, but Marc will live on in my mind as cheamclimber, this goofy kid with a lot of enthusiasm. Quote
JasonG Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 I plan to see it on the big screen! MA was big inspiration to me over the years, even though I never met him in person. Although the film is probably something he would've probably cringed at seeing, I am glad that we can all get a better sense of who he was as a person and climber. Quote
Rad Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 I always loved this trailer and hoped a longer film would emerge. Never met MA, but it was easy to see he was an original, someone with vision, talent, and drive, an alpine artist, using his body to paint exoerience on the canvas of nature. 1 Quote
Rad Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Marc's passing sparked one of the most thoughtful threads I've seen on cc.com. It's full of deeply personal and thoughtful posts from many of the luminaries in our community. 1 Quote
Whatcomboy Posted September 19, 2021 Author Posted September 19, 2021 Just watched this at theater. It was done very well and climbing scenes are awesome. Also the RunOut Podcast had a good interview with the filmmaker. Marc was so young... Quote
kmfoerster Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 (edited) Thought the film was great! Some of the climbing was absolutely incredible. Marc mentions in the film how he started alpine climbing in jeans and polo t-shirts as in the Cheam peak TR above. Edited September 21, 2021 by kmfoerster just saw Jason posted the Cheam TR a few months ago Quote
Rad Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Yes, this is one of the best climbing films I've ever seen. Amazing climbing footage. Excellent interviews and narrations. Masterful story telling. Significant comments from many luminaries of climbing. Enough space to absorb all of it. Quote
