klenke Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 You know, that ridge on the far left does look a little like Tepeh Towers, therefore making your peak Klawatti. That's my final answer for a million dollars. Quote

tread_tramp Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 I'm guessing Bonanza for Klenke's photo; maybe taken from Fernow. Quote
klenke Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 A million bucks for me! All right! Now I can buy all that North Face gear I always wanted! Not! Â Tramp: No. Peak is north of those. Quote

mattp Posted February 1, 2003 Author Posted February 1, 2003 Jim and Colin got mine. It is the South Peak of Granite Mountain. The main buttress is 5.10, and the one to the right of it 5.7. Quote
philfort Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 Philfort: Wanna go? I might be interested in a return visit this Spring. There is a lot of good skiing up there. Â Dru: Do you know if RR Pass (Hurley River Road) is open this winter? Â I don't think the pass has been plowed through the winter since about 1990 when the price of timber made it feasible cost wise (?) Â I'd be up for a spring trip up there... I wonder if a snowmobile would make it a reasonable wknd trip.. Quote
mattp Posted February 1, 2003 Author Posted February 1, 2003 I think hauling a snowmobile up there -- and then using the thing -- would be more trouble than it is worth. There are great roadside ski destinations right off Roads that ARE driveable all winter, and if that isn't good enough there is always Pemberton Helicopters. Quote
mattp Posted February 1, 2003 Author Posted February 1, 2003 (edited) Phil- What I'm saying is that there is a LOT of roadside skiing up there. The following two ski runs, both nearly 3,000', are both easily skiable as day trips at this time of year without a snowmobile. Later in the Spring, I'd be for using a snowmobile to head up Ryan River or something for a longer trip, though. Â Â Â Â Â By the way: any guesses? Edited February 1, 2003 by mattp Quote
EJohnson Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 Maude almost looks like this mountain. Quote
EJohnson Posted February 1, 2003 Posted February 1, 2003 Here is a classic that many of us have been to. Â Quote
mattp Posted February 1, 2003 Author Posted February 1, 2003 EJohnson's second photo is the Grand, North Face. Quote
proper Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I'd like to resurrect the mystery photo with another picture of a popular cascade climb. Included are two soloists many have seen on this climb...see attachment. Quote
eric8 Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I'm going to have to agree with offwhite, as thats longs pass down there. Quote
proper Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 west ridge of Stuart? You're right offwhite. We were at the west ridge notch (c. 9000 ft) when I took this picture. We first saw them down at around 7500ft...they cover a lot of elevation pretty quickly. Quote
