Dru
A muscle in my left leg has been randomly spasming, or tic'ing or whatever you call it, for the last 2 days. What causes it and how do I get it to stop?
bobinc
I'm not a doctor, but it seems pretty clear that your body is crying out for a good single malt Scotch.

freeclimb9
Sometimes low calcium can cause that. Or you've got Presley Syndrome.
sk
My advise is a nice cup of tea and some yoga. I usualy get muscle twitches if I am increadibly nervouse or tense.
Dru
I just ate some pie and it stopped. "damn fine coffee" is probably to blame causing dehydration
Greg_W
Dru - what were you doing prior? Running, lifting weights, hiking? I get this too, on occassion, and it is usually after a strenuous activity; leads me to believe that it is somewhat caused by minor trauma or stress to the joint capsule or attached tissues. COL._Von_Spanker
Back on topic: Â I too occasionally get the random spasms. Usually it's on the top/middle of my left thigh. I can see the little muscle twitching away which is usually pretty funny. It sometimes happens on the left bicep as well.
Dru
strange coincidence, mine also on left side and its just one muscle fiber just above the knee... i cantthink why, i am not calcium deficient, no longer dehydrated, and total exercise in last 2 weeks has consisted of walking and a 1 hour hike uphill in the rain... Â the little muscle has been twiching since sunday night or monday am, even during the night when lying in bed and the leg is fully relaxed... maybe there is an alien implant i am unaware of... rbw1966
I get the twitches every so often. I was told that its a potassium deficiency. Bananas are supposed to help. Â Seemed to work. But I am not a doctor, I just play one on As the World Turns.
Dru
OK I will drink a Banana/blueberry/pear/rum Smoothy in 0.75 hr and see if that helps - it will kill the 420 munchies anyways
rbw1966
At that time you won't care anyway, right? Just make sure to incorporate some dingleberry pie in your diet.
