That pretty much says it all, seems like.

Does it seem any worse than "I hate you, you fucking *"? While quite offensive, this seems worse than his "little eichmanns" comment and yet stillwithin the bounds of free speech (I hope!). (I'm assuming the regular disclaimers are not ness. here...)

Yeah, I was a little miffed at how tame his "comparison" was relative to how much shit he caught over it. Seems like they blew it out of proportion. But it looks like some of his other "creative" methods are going to get him in trouble!

http://www.colorado.edu/news/releases/2005/129.html University of Colorado at Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano today announced the findings of a preliminary review of allegations concerning the conduct and scholarship of Professor Ward Churchill. The review team, led by DiStefano, found that Churchill’s controversial essay on 9/11 and other public comments are protected by the First Amendment, but that other allegations of plagiarism, misuse of others’ work and fabrication may constitute research misconduct. Research misconduct, if proven, is subject to university sanctions. The report also pointed to possible research misconduct related to allegations that Churchill misrepresented his ethnicity “in order to gain credibility and attract an audience for (his) scholarship.” Under established university procedures, allegations of research misconduct are referred to the campus’s Standing Committee on Research Misconduct for further investigation. Findings of the committee will be submitted to the vice chancellor for academic affairs and the chancellor for action. DiStefano said that the recent controversy has “sorely tested our commitment as citizens and educators to the long-held values of freedom of expression, professional integrity, academic freedom and intellectual honesty.” However, he said, the university responded to the intense public debate by engaging in a deliberative process, beginning with the preliminary review just concluded. DiStefano said, “The review process was both laborious and methodical, but we remained constantly aware of the gravity of our task and the importance of its outcomes.” He said the team researched the Laws of the Regents and the historic principles of free speech and academic freedom. They reviewed nearly 100 works by Churchill and published critiques of his work. The team also consulted with outside experts concerning relevant issues. DiStefano was assisted in the preliminary review by Todd Gleeson, dean of arts and sciences, and David Getches, dean of law. The team’s report was released in a news conference held in Denver, following a regular meeting of the CU Board of Regents. Totally different places, miles and miles apart. Goode is visible from both spots though.... Sorry. In my haste I neglected to reference the comment klenke makes for this photo: "In the foreground right of center is Pk 7450 near the head of Rainbow Creek(#13). Mt. Logan is on horizon and Mt. Goode is at far left." In the words of my real and complex analysis prof: "the rest is trivial!" Nice photo.

My take on the issue is that the issue is not wieght but instead bulk. I don't mind heaving around more weight, I'm just annoyed when it makes my pack big and clunky. I've got a Lafuma super light weight 800 fill ~20 deg down bag (sorry, don't know the exact model) but in retrospect, would go instead of a synthetic w/ a comp. sack simply for the peace of mind about water.

At least it's outside. Could be worse.... or or, hell, what about Seems better than any of those options...

Call me a retard, but this is darrington your talking about? I guess to be even more specific, your talking about Clear Creek road? thanks for the info dave

As you can tell from above, I don't think your going to get one answer about this issue. And You will definately get alot of analysis of the issue. I'd like to offer another form of analysis. You can look at the number of biners, the autolocking features, weight, blah blha blah... But insead, just look at what's been around for a while and still seems to sell pretty well: the good 'ol ATC. Sure, some stupid shit continues to be sold (widemouth nalgenes and hand strengtheners), but at least you know a bunch of people have used them and if there were some issue, it'd have come up by now. I guess I'm not interested in beta testing some new fancy must-have climbing gear. Maybe Im just slow.

Two things: First: Some of us have no other sleeping facilities. Truck dwellers unite! And second: and and Shit. It's no wonder you couldn't finish the route. Quit smoking so much dope. Oh yeah. A third thing This thread deserves to drift into gibberish.

Just what is the thought behind something breathable as a ground cloth? Seems like heavy weight visqueen is lighter, cheaper, and easier...

Let me start by saying I can't say whether or not it helps. I can only relate my experience. I have twice tried this stuff and both times I've stopped taking it after a month (or a little less) because my knees and hips started to hurt more! Was it the gluc.? Who knows. That's the point. Now I by no means want to imply anyone is full of it, but I've heard there's no "real" studies on the stuff and I haven't been able to find anything (online) either. What is this doc talking about? I'd like to know what these studies say. Any info? Like I said above, I;m not saying good or bad here.

I think the clean, perpendicular cut also helps prevent stress cracking at the tips...

N Chuckanut Ridge trailhead (Bellingham). One other fellow parked next to me got it, a car I saw parked at the arroyo trailhead got it, and there were two fresh piles (of glass) in the parkandride at the Fairhaven exit,... and these are just the ones I've heard of. All on wed, thurs, and friday. I've also been hit at the pine ans cedar lakes trialhead, as has one of my friends. This stuff is rampant!
