My favorite this weekend photo (share) part 2

Crikey, she's a bit grumpy mate! She's a real beaut. -
Seems like it's always the asshole driver who pulls the bonehead move who flips me off when it should be the other way around. When someone does something particularly stupid I usually applaud them (mockingly of course, they get the message) or give them a thumbs up sign. That usually really pisses 'em off, and of course I get the finger.

I think the answer is definitely yes. Look at coworkers, friends, family, etc. (I'm assuming you must have somebody that fits into this category) that don't do anything remotely adventurous or risky. Do they seem at all like they are living a full life or are they healthy and vital? Doesn't appear so to me. Just my $.02.

I always claim mine, and this wasn't. If my ass smelled like that I think I would go to see a Dr. for some kind of intestinal disorder.

Went to "Underworld" Fri. night (decent, not great, but Kate Beckinsale looked GOOD as a leather clad vampire). Some asshole, literally and figuratively, in front of us had the worst gas I've ever smelled, cut loose w/ 5 or 6 during the flick. We're talking pure sulphurous rotten egg smell. The place was packed, pretty hard to determine who it was. Rancid.

Agreed. Did you happen to be on Hidden Lake Peak in June, saw someone w/ your name signed the summit register? -
Giving a talk on fitness for mountaineering at REI? Saw it in the paper this morning. Good luck.

Huh? Kinda different climate than they're used to ain't it?

I thought so. At least if you happen to be in the neighborhood. There's many route variations, some more technical, some less. The lower part of the approach trail is pretty cool, some intriguing crags along the valley. I was amazed how many locals trudged up there to tag their high point (kinda like Rainier), took one look at the beginning of the acual climb, shit their pants, then turned around and headed down. It's not bad at all but not a good place for newbies to get their first alpine experience. -

I ran into a couple of high pointers this summer (about #44 for them, #1 for me) on Granite in MT. But they've been saving all the glaciated western peaks. It is kinda goofy and contrived, just about anything in Washington state is better than what passes for a high point in most of the states east of the Mississippi. I'll vouch for Granite not being a cake walk. The technical difficulty is fairly low (mostly third class, fairly obvious route finding for the most part), but it's a long approach and Froze To Death Plateau is not the friendliest place to hang out. -
I read that, didn't like it all that much as far as Abbey books go, but I would recommend "A Fool's Progress." I think it was his last novel written, and it's not hard to imagine it's somewhat autobiographical.

Nice rig Mr. Radon. So can I pick up one of those for around $20 K or less?

Nice job Dryad. I think the 3rd pitch was the most fun.

You think Suby drivers are bad, ya shoulda seen the Acura driver I encountered yesterday. It was on the Mt. Loop Highway in the little "Sinkhole" section that always washes out and is currently unpaved. I think there is a posted speed limit sign of 25 or at least some kind of warning about the road condition. I catch up to this guy and he is doing, no shit, 10 mph. I'm not having that, so I quickly passed him on the left, definitely no oncoming traffic. He took exception to having his doors blown off, so as soon as he hit pavement he accelerated. He quickly passed me back, he must've been doing 70 to 75, and this was on a BLIND CORNER in a no passing zone. Then he nearly sideswiped me as he jerked his car back into the right lane. I let him speed on past me at that point, didn't want anything to do w/ someone driving that recklessly. But if your little tricked out sports car can't do over 10 mph on a short section of gravel road that doesn't even have any potholes in it, maybe you should stay in the city and not venture out in the boonies.

Saturday at the Lynnwood Hooters. Bikini clad hotties everywhere. Ya shoulda been there!
-
The second one. I'm starting a grass roots movement. So far two coworkers have seen it and thought it was great.

I'm bringing this one back to the top. If you like sci-fi it's a good flick. It's way too good of a movie to be as under the radar as it is. I can't figure it out.
-
I might be up for that. I probably have to work part of Saturday, Sunday should be wide open. L-worth or Erie sound fine.

I saw "Equilibrium" recently, I have yet to encounter anyone else who's seen it. Pretty good I thought. Little bit of The Matrix mixed w/ a little bit of Minority Report, although fairly original. Anyone else seen or even heard of it?
-
That's about right. You are clairvoyant.

I honestly haven't noticed bad Suby drivers, and I do see plenty of them on the road. Mine is about 2 years old, does that count as new?
-
Crowsnest Pass area was burning pretty bad about a week ago, driving thru I saw 5 or 6 bombers and a couple of choppers. Never seen such aggressive firefighting before.

Pikas are my favorite snaffle. I hope they don't go .

Must be that damn global warming to blame again!

And they have some dude dressed as a tree for the mascot running up and down the sidelines. Figure that one out. One of the funniest things I ever saw was the Gonzaga Bulldog mascot lifting it's legging and pretending to take a whiz on said tree from Stanford. Meanwhile the Zags bounced the highly favored Cardinal out of the NCAA Tourney back in '99 (I think that was the year).
