  1. As of 8/01/08, all back country users (as defined as >1 hour from road) will be required to register with this service: http://www.safecheckin.com/safecheckin/index.php
  2. This job is WAAAAAY better than actually guiding for them. don't put Polish Bob down as a reference though. I worked there over 8 years ago and still have lasting friendships from the people that worked there. Just don't use too many paper towels cleaning the vans or uncle D will dock your pay.
  3. You can rupture a muscle completely without a drop of pain, John. Good new is there's really only 20% reduction in strength loss due to a detached biceps. What I would consider is if I'm doing enough exercise to detach my biceps, maybe I should lay off that muscle and go climb something say...made out of rocks or ice instead of a rope.
  4. it's usually not the knee that's the problem, but an imbalance in your hips or feet. sounds like your quads are injured or weak and aren't pulling the kneecap up when you're walking. just a guess. could be other muscle or skeletal structural imbalances. so before you go cutting or opening shit up, find out why before you fix it. replacing the tires on your car doesn't make sense if the wheels aren't straight. problem usually isn't bad tires ... or bad knees. the doc you saw was a fucking retard

nothings more goddamned annoying than people who use gmail smugly talk about how much better it is. reminds me of that South Park episode when all the hybrid drivers got really smug about it. but a gmail enthusiast would most likely respond, "I wouldn't know - I don't watch T.V." to which they can go selfrighteously fuck themselves.

I love it when people get possessive about brands they didn't create, design, or profit from. I created a BS account and was able to log in. I sent myself a nice little email to congratulate my re-entry into hotmail. Has this ever happened to anyone? Is homeland security auditing my email account?

Anyone else not able to log into hotmail? I tried in IE and Mozilla - and it said my account was temporarily unavailable. It's been doing this since this afternoon? Is it them, or me? I don't have another computer to use and my russian mail order bride was going to email me instruction for sending her money via western union and I don't want to keep her waiting!
  14. I was wondering why it rained here, now I know! A bunch of PNW'ers brought it with them! The rock gym was dry and full of prana tops today.
  15. Little known fact is that "This Is The Place" historic park in Salt Lake City, named after Joseph Smith's prophetic proclamation, was actually misinterpreted. It is supposed to read, "This is the Place?"
  16. I can't stand it when shins are banging at the foot of the bed, maybe I lace too tight. -
  17. Hey y'all! I'm still looking for clamberin partners in SLC - now that it's desert climbing season. Anyone here in SLC or have friends there that can climb mid-ten?

The neighborhood went to shit now that I'm here.
  19. I got back from a 4 day conference on cervical rehabilitation and the effects of said "cricks" if you want any info email me at michael_layton@hotmail.com
  20. Climbing is a stoopid contrived waste of time. We needed some exercise, scenery and a little bit of unknown - we got it. I'm 31 and pissed off it doesn't go backwards once you reach 30. It really should.
  21. wow! I check in and still see the same old shit here! How about someone climb something hard or something and post a TR? This place has really hit bottom over the past couple years.
  22. Do they run narrow, regular, or wide? Quick change o' topic - what are some wide ice boots for my bunion infested clown feet?
  23. Graham's broken nose story is a CLASSIC! He literally did break a guys nose ON PURPOSE at the show. Don't mess with Graham. Buy his packs and like em or else he'll fuck you up. As for his packs. His 65L is hands down the shizzzit for longer trips into the pickets, carries better than anything, doesn't weight anything, and climbs really well. He pays attention to people's feedback and actually makes changes based on that feedback. Find that anywhere else! He made some great changes on his pack right after I got mine, and he called the closest repair shop and had it all set up for me to get it fixed. Best customer service EVER!!! I had a chance to check out his new line of summit packs, and smaller than my 65L packs...made of of the regular lightweight material and the ultralight dynema (spectra?) material. Both were perfect and I want one!!!! The dyneema pack is actually very reasonably priced. Thanks so much for being the one to finally make a good pack with the materials...Cold Cold World and Wild Things were sweet, but behind the times these days, and although BD makes some pretty good shit, Cilogear goes the extra mile and it's worth it!
  24. Yeah, I haven't seen it around. Any chance you can scan it to a PDF for emailing 2 me if it's short?
  25. Quit playing in my backyard! Where did you get the Provo Santaquin Mixed guide?
