Don't know if anyone will be interested in this, but I just got notice from the FS that they will start the public process for improvements French's - retaining walls and belay platforms and new segments of trail. Contact Mary Ellen Fitzgerald - 503-622-3191.

Sorry for the bad attitude, but I've been listening to people complain about this place since I moved to Oregon in '98. I can't tell if I'm more tired of the PRG itself or all the complainers complaining about it non-stop. Complaining hasn't improved the situation.

I'll second Will's comments. Either clam up, get out or put up and open a new gym. I think a low key coop in SE would be a great idea.

We've got 1 room in our big 4 bedroom bungalo near the Hawthorne district in Portland. PM if you're interested. Rent = $390. Its a sweet set up.

Hey all, thought I would forward this little tidbit of warmth from Meadows management. Enjoy. (POST DELETED)

TG, can you look into brewing up some absynthe and also maybe look into the local Oregon market for home grown kb. Also, try this new product - grean beam. Take the leftovers of the kb process and let them soak in a bottle of beam for a few weeks. I see huge growth potential.

Oregon used to be pretty lenient with speeding tickets. They would pretty much reduce fines by as mush as 75% if you showed up and claimed financial hardship or wrote a nice letter. Now, you're screwed. You can ask for a hearing and hope the cop doesn't show up, but I don't have a lot of other suggestions.

Hey folks, I've been skiing for probably 27 years, but I've never picked up tele skiing before, so I figure now is the right time to start. I need a little gear advice. A girl I know has a pair of K2 Heli Stynx (170 cm she thinks) and Riva II bindings. I go about 5'7" and 130-130 lbs. She paid $500 and wants to sell them to me for $250. I know she has barely used this stuff. So will this be a good set up for me and is the price right?

You could nail up the hand crack at PRG.

Would you prefer to live in Boise or Salt Lake?

Yeah, I think the choice is pretty clear for pure outdoors quality - go with SLC. But the mormons may weird you out. I've spent a lot of time with family near SLC, and I also spent a week in LCC earlier this fall, and a lot of people I met complained about the mormon culture. But the Wasatch is not alpine climbing, and there isn't a lot of alpine rock close to town, it mostly cragging. Actually maybe the choice isn't so clear. But you can get Polygamy Porter in Utah!! You can have 10 beers at once and 45 little beers runnig around just waiting to grow up to become full blown drinking beers. -
you crazy fool! bring on the bottles!! Hopefully then I won't have to spend so much time at the horses ass.

DMM cams are a good way to cut down on weight and cost, but I don't really like mine that much. They have a real narrow range, they walk and they get stuck super easy. But if you don't mind the precise placements you need, then go for them. I actually think the new friends may weigh less, but they cost a lot more.

There, now I feel better.

Haha! Shit, my anonymous foul mouthed cyber persona has been busted.

Look, people can always drive a mile up the road and camp in a private spot if they don't want to deal with the crowds, which is what I often do. I honestly think its unrealistic to expect 10 pm quite hours in the grasslands unless its run by a camp host and that aint what we all want. Last year, the locals pulled up to our private site, gunned the engine on the jacked up 4x4 tuck and yelled "WE'RE FROM PRINEVILLE AND YOU'RE NOT!!"

After a three month climbing trip, work stinks. Long trips seem to inspire both depression and a drive to maintain my conditioning. Both seem to fade some over time. How do you stomp the blues and keep up the drive?! Anyone want to pay me to be a full time average climber?

Hey hey. The honeymoon is over, and I'm back fighting to find time for a weekend at Smith. Too bad I won't have any thing weekend. The little missus, however, wants to find a ride down to Smith, hopefully Friday afternoon so we can climb at Beacon in the morning. Anyone interested in a car mate? Let me know. -
Deleted by dumb ass.
