  1. Anyone been in the Bugs the last few days? We're looking for an update on conditions. I know its been pretty snowy up until recently. Thanks.
  2. Yeah we were in the Goat Rocks last weekend and it was INCREDIBLE! Wish I had time to post pictures.
  3. Damn sea level living wussies... Big Sandy TH is around 9200ft and Arrowhead lake is around 10,400. Jackass Pass is only a couple hundred feet above that... Wow...that's 1400 vertical ft you did in a whole day...fucking animal!
  4. I was there several years ago, but I remember the hike from Big Sandy totalling almost 10-12 miles and 4-6k in vertical. I could be totally off base on this, but I know I was whooped after humping a week of food and gear into the Circue.
  5. Holy shit people. Someone shut down this thread before it gets ugly. They're both fine. We walked in to find them via Ingalls' Pass and they walked out via Long's Pass two days late on a two days climb. All's well. The climbers can give more details if they want. Thanks to those that provided useful information, and thanks to Pete and Iain for doing what they could back here in PDX. And thanks to the PMR folks for all their efforts and cooperation. And thanks to Chelan County for the bird. We're glad to have them both home safe and sound.
  6. Lance hasn't tested positive after seven long years of extensive testing. End of story. He doesn't dope or juice until someone proves otherwise. Sheeesh. Get over it already.
  7. Layton you can live in my garage if you don't piss off the trolls.
  8. Yeehaaww! Climbed it this weekend and the first bolt tests your head. I say leave it as it is unless the FA wants to change it. The last pitch is a battle, and I lost. Couldn't believe cams with 2/4 lobes tipped out would hold my weight.
  9. Yeah but you can snuggle up with them at the bivi.
  10. I just called and it isn't B-Rock. They wouldn't release the name, but they told me it wasn't him. Condolences to the family and friends.
  11. Well, I wish I would have seen this earlier. Here's some facts. 1. There is no surface water available from the E. Fork. There is an in stream right and apparently it isn't being met much of year. The regs are very clear that there is no water available under the Hood River Basin Plan. Its also quite clear that the groundwater that they want to use is connected to the E. Fork somewhere below Sahalie Falls. So if they use groundwater, they're also taking water out of the E. Fork. 2. Snowmaking results in a consumptive loss of 20-75% between evaporation at the gun, sublimation on the snowpack and evaporation before making it back into the surface water. Of course, the Forest Service and Meadows won't tell the public this information. NRCS has done quite a bit of research on this point. 3. This proposal does not affect 5 acres nor does it fit within CE 13, which is the one they supposedly wanted to use. The system the FS described in its scoping notice was designed to cover over 1000 acres of terrain with snowmaking. CE 13 is for small installations - not a 1 millions gallon water tank. 4. This proposal was not it the 1997 Master Plan that lays out all major capital investments in the ski area. Why have a Master Plan if they can implement projects excluded from that process? Anything else folks want to know (other than why we are so reactionary and unreasonable and why we don't know anything about natural resource management)?
  12. ttt - ivan hope to see you there.
  13. Hey folks - We're throwing a fundraiser for our work on Mt. Hood and around Oregon this weekend. I hope to see some of you there! What: Sumemer Solstice Fundraiser for CRAG Music from Scott Law and Tye North's Acoustic Duo Beer from Terminal Gravity (thanks Steve!) When: Saturday, June 25. 7 pm-close Where: 3024 SE 26th Avenue in PDX How much: $20 There's a lot going on right now with Mt. Hood. We recently convinced the Forest Service to drop the Polallie-Cooper timber sales that stretched from the Tilly-Jane trail to the other side of Hwy 35. There's a lot in the works. Come find out what's going on.
  14. FW ya got yer head up her arse if you think Cheney is runnin in 2008. No Fing way will the repubs put him up in front of the american people as the candidate. Too fat, too beady eyed, too corporate pig, too rich, too arrogant. Jeb and Frist may have to slug it out behind the scenes to see who gets the nod.
  15. We met you guys up there - we bivied right down at the lake. 40-50 - maybe. I'd say more like 30, but it was freakin cold.
  16. The support team helped them with route finding? Fido's gonna be all over that shit.
  17. You guys should have gone up the W. Ridge anyway. Weather was a little cold, but would have been a fun "adventure" climb. I know. Been up it already and wasn't really motivated to suffer in high winds for 4 pitches I've already done. You're right though. I was ready to give the S. Face a try in sketchy conditions but was convinced by partners I was being a jack ass.
  18. Hiked up to Lk. Vivienne on Sat. Went to bed. Woke up on Sun. morning with 30 mph+ winds, blowing snow, 30 deg. temps. Walked back down to TH. Drank beer. Rode home in back seat. Went to bed.
  19. Y'all shoulda been at Broughton's yesterday - the skeeters were hungry.
  20. I'm looking at this a week or two after your date. Do you know if you have to hike in from Rainy Pass or is the road from Stehekin open? Thanks.

    Dirtbag no more

Mike it was only a matter of time before someone threatened to sue you. I suggest you hire a high-priced attorney and stand up for your principles. Litigation is the only way to go.
  22. The alines seem popular. 20 footer onto a red aline on Orange Sunshine. 15-20 footer onto a yellow alien on Bo Derek. Both clean falls.
