There are plenty of high speed quads at Crystal right now. I'm happy with things the way they are, and I don't want to pay for more lifts. I should add that concidering global warming and the fact that the skier/snowboarder population is not growing I don't think that more lifts are a good business stratigy. If I owned the ski area I would try for the Gondola, a super fancy summit restaurant and a big base area with lots of shops selling cute NW artwork. Thats how you make money not off this skiing crap.

Kerry served in Viet Nam, and there is no real debate about his medals. I'd also say that Bush served in the National Gaurd. I haven't seen any proof that he did or didn't go AWOL, so I wouldn't diss him on that account. For me the difference is that Kerry served in a place where he faced real military danger while Bush served in Texas flying a plane that was in the process of being decommisioned from military use. As far as this plays out today I believe that Kerry has some more real world experience and respect for the concequences of military action. Since the US is now in perpetual war I figure he wold make a better leader in that respect.

Saturday evening entertainment. Othere than socializing there's going to be some video entertainment. We plan on getting a copy of Vertical Limit and showing it that evening. Also I may have a line on some cool 8 mil movies of skiing and climbing.

Modern Issaquah pisses me off. The brew pub is alright though. If you want a clasic eastside experience drive a few miles west to Eastgate and go to Lil Jon's. A clasic diner and bar that's been there as long as I can remember.

All you new climbers listen up. Index does have hard climbing, but it also has an area close to the parking lot where there are a number of moderate climbs. In fact you could spend up to a couple days doing the moderate climbs at index. I wouldn't recommend going to Index for more then a couple days if you don't climb fairly well, but for a few hours you can have tons of fun.
