The viaduct and the 520 bridge will be the first to go down. I-5 too, but I figure it's in third place. Then again I'm no engineer. I figure Tacoma is a little safer judging by some of the recent construction over I-5.

Those were some great pictures and we stopped at the German pub where they have landjaeger on the menu. Good times -
I don't believe RuMR was involved with crack greasing, as I know most of the players. I might add that there is mutual respect between crack greasers and pig riggers.

Actually, that bag was full of alpine snacks: Vienna sausage, kippered fish (in mustard sauce), sweet cherry peppers, imported yuppie cheese and Sheaf Stout. The photographer (Jon Sheriff) and I once manufactured a small number of custom chalk bags made to the specifications of elite and demanding climbers. These hand-crafted bags weren't available for Jeff Smoot's famous chalk bag review, and so we were never able to ascertain their "dipability" coefficient. But I promise you they were the cat's ass. In the Brass Balls photo you can see one of these custom bags, constructed with a special tropical fish print fabric. These bags were highly desirable and production was slow. Occasionally fist fights broke out over who would receive the next bag. Vienna sausages, kippers, and Sheaf Stout. I'm sorry I said anything bad about you. Way to style your solo When it comes to beer I'd take a Thirsty Beaver, but that's just me.

I'm not so sure. I know for years Gonzalez has been cleaning up a lot of details for GW. I figure that's why George has kept him around for so long, but now it's too the point where a ton of Republicans want him gone. I'd say that Gonzalez will have to step down pretty soon. I suppose it's not impossible that congress will indite him with backing from the Republicans, but it's a little unlikely. It will make for good theater if congress does bring charges against him.

I was mostly joking about loosing too much fat, but I do need some on hand for the 10th. I'm not joking about

I put a new battery in the knuckleboom yesterday. The thing runs like a top. I should also add that I have other stuff that I'm letting go of. Today I just sold a Stihl 066 chainsaw, but there's nobody here that's tough enough to wield an ubermacho saw like that. I still have a log dolly and a chainsaw winch attachment for sale.

Today I'm at 207.5 That's a drop of 12.5 lbs from May 1st or a drop of 9 lbs from contest start date of the 6th. I don't know if I'm up to it, but I can't drop more than 7 lbs before Aug 10th or I'll have to get a fat donation.

All I know is I was impressed with Pope's solo, but that whole chalk bag thing has changed my mind. Poor solo style.

I'm not sure how to grade my solo climbs. I sure as hell never solo climbed 5.10b but I did solo the NW ridge of Sir Donald. I know it's only a wimpy 5.4 but its really long and I did down solo the whole thing. Please don't be harsh on your grading.

When I was in college in Idaho I worked for this guy who had been a climbing ranger in the Tetons. He really loved that part of the job and he did spend most of his time making sure people were safe and had the right backcountry permits and getting involved in rescues. At one point in order for him to continue his job his bosses told him he had to go to cop school and learn to pack heat. They wanted him to continue to do the job I described above, but the also wanted him to get behind the wheels of a cruiser and pull people over for speeding violations etc. He did go off to cop school somewhere in the SE part of the states and then got behind the wheels of a parks cop mobile one or two days a week. He said he tried to stick to handing out warnings for speeding violations, but he still hated that part of the job. I should add that I was in school in the 80s and my friend was in the Tetons in the 70s, so getting parks people to be cops has been around for quite a while.

The sound of pumping a shotgun is a very important feature. It inspires a lot more respect from the thug.

I'm not a gun owner, but if I were to buy one for home defence it would be a shotgun.

Screw pep sticks. Landjaeger rules, and it goes good with beer. Seriously, I've done some longer trips and taken 1 stick a day.

Hmmm. Sounds like a new climbing style. Half trad half sport.
