  1. Night. I can't be any more specific than that because there are just too many complicating factors. I'm hoping to be there by 9 p.m. but it all depends on how many times I have to pull over to refill my cup.
  2. Steve--call me. I can bring the kegs, taps etc with me Friday night.
  3. Very interesting report PP. Thanks for the link.
  4. How very eloquent as well as old skool. Fuck it, I'll bring mine as well as my propane tank and hose kit. Its a BBQ-sized tank and can burn for hours while erik extolls the virtues of propane blowjobs.
  5. You burn white gas on a coleman stove or are you using it to pour on the rock, light on fire and run away? My coleman burns propane.
  6. How many people are bringing BBQs and Stoves? I have a two-burner coleman but really don't want to bring it if there's already gonna be 20 of them lined up.
  7. eat this dick K Hey trask--did you actually read this article? Your hero is desccribed pretty much as a deserter who failed to follow orders and fullfil his obligation. As for intelligence, the only smart thing Shrub did was surround himself with smart people and I suspect his papa had more to do with that then GW himself. I've been to Paris, Texas. Trust me, this snafu was nothing out of the ordinary for this part of the state of texas. Paris is not too far from the lovely town of Whiteright. Wanna guess at the black population?

  9. Well said Minx
  10. Looks like I will be there. I may drive down Friday night but if not I will be there early Saturday. I have a coleman two-burner with a propane tank hook-up I can bring.
  11. This is utter bullshit. Its a great climb for a beginning trad leader. Solid and a great confidence inspirer. Finish it off by doing the second pitch as well. The only down side--and perhaps what Iain is alluding to, is that it is often crowded. Lots of easy climbs nearby.
  12. Peter: Out of respect for scrambler I won't stray any further off his desired topic except to say that I wasnt talking about Israel at all.
  13. It would seem to me that anything less than carrying your shit your self is supported. Prepositioned gear or food, regardless of who does it, is supported. Its splitting hairs of course. My admiration goes out to someone who engages in such full-on suffering.
  14. I read with interests your thoughts scrambler. One premise underlying your ideas that I see is some sort of islamic-based threat of world domination. I've never got the sense that the muslim community wants to take over the US but rather want us to stop interfering in their (i.e. islamic) affairs. Its late and my thoughts are elsewhere for the moment, but has an islamic nation ever engaged in colonialism in the same way as the US? Territorial squabbles sure--but these are immediate and adjacent. The Turks went on a territorial binge but they never forced other nations to adapt to their views or beliefs but rather let them rule themselves somewhat autonomously. I think the US is guilty of a cultural hubris in assuming that we have the answers to islamic concerns, or are morally justified in interfering. Its my understanding that a lot of hatred towards Americans began with US bases appearing in muslim countries and the flouting of muslim norms that came with that.
  15. But unlikely to be implemented.
  16. It is illegal in the military
  17. Erik has a girlfriend AND a boyfriend?
  18. If you bring bivy gear you will use it.

    Whats for dinner

Are you going to coat it in your own sauce for dinner?
  23. Prom Night at Smith was a humbling experience.
  24. Free for All was one of my first trad leads. Watching my friend move away from the drop zone as I mantled to the top of that pillar was priceless.
  25. Why the big concern about someone aiding through the crux? I personally have never cleaned a sport route: is this something that an FA really concerns himself with when establishing a new line?
