Someone spot me!

I'd be interested in hearing the dates as well Dryad. Has anyone taken any tele lessons in Orygun? Any beta on instructors?

Maybe I can help: scan it in. Voila! Electronic version. Best wishes,

Ever been to this thing? I went last year and saw a whole lot of boy scout mess kits, russian titanium screws of unknown history, old-school footfangs and a bunch of nordic skis. The spray was worth it though. What time are you guys going? Pub club before the sale? Last year I picked up 5 Camalots .75, 1, 2, 3, 4 for $105. Not sure if I'm going this year though. If'n I did it sounds like a pre-sale pub club would be in order, who serves at 7am? I do. I'll bring a case of Busch to the sale and we can drink it in line.

I never saw Elliot on his solo concerts but I saw Heatmiser play many many times. He and the other bands of that time, Hazel, 30.06 etc formed a pretty intense littlle community in Portland for several years. His contribution was missed when he split for a while and never seemed to regain its momentum.

The worst part was having to stare at carrot-top whilst engaged in the activity. That tongue thing is pretty disturbing.

Thats really fucking cool! I saw a cougar out at Mt. Stewart once. He jammed across the road as we drove to the parking lot.

I'll give you a 12-pack of Busch. Final offer.

Did somebody make a production tent out of EPIC before the new-for-next-year BD tents, or is this field research by one of the mfrs or what? Just being nosy, though it comes as no surprise to me that it wets out/leaks in heavy rain. I missed the part where you specified epic TENTS. Epic itself has been, as Beck pointed out, available in bivvy sacks for a couple years now.

Ya hear that Necro? When she makes a tour stop in Alabama she's all yours. Cue up banjo.

Mr. Radon's magnificent intelligence is readily apparent in his exceptional writing skills. Bravo to you Mr. Radon and bravo to your educators. They did themselves proud indeed. Perhaps you should look beyond the teachers at such programs as "no child left behind," et al for causes of the decline in students abilities. Teachers have to give their students so many tests that they spend most of their classroom time teaching them the information on the tests rather than other things--this is of course an exageration but there is truth to this. Oh, and lets not forget about all those wonderfully helpful and cooperative parents. My wife is a teacher and I get to hear it all. Of course, no one's angel is ever in trouble at school--its always the teachers fault. Parents bitch about too much homework or not enough homework; about teachers lack of education on moral and ethical matters and then bitch about how teachers are cramming their own morality down the throats of students. Teaching is a job like any other. It has its bad apples and its stars. I'm no fan of unions but I am a fan of paying someone a living wage for their work. Disclaimer: I am not in any way talking about the strike in WA. I don't know jack about it.

Maybe not where you are but I have a friend in the fire department here in Portland who pulls down a 6 figure income as a paramedic/firefighter. In the private sector a paramedic is damn lucky if he makes $40k and even then has to pay his benefits and retirement. Apparently things in WA are VASTLY different.

Easy: advertising Yeah--lets banish the ability of under-employed workers from collectively fighting for better standard of living. That puts teaching right up there with such time-honored occupations as farm laborer.

Sure--if you are a catholic priest.

I use sabretooths and have to change the sizing with each different pair of boots I use. I do this in the comfort of my own home while drinking a beer. If your partner is too stupid to adjust his crampons BEFORE you get to the climb then I'm not sure I'd trust him belaying you. I witnessed this in action while climbing on Hood once and watching a gaper fumble with his rented crampons while his buddies stood around freezing--they had him crying before just leaving his ass there.

I saw the Cure in Frankfurt during the tour for Kiss Me, Kiss me, Kiss me. Still one of the best shows I ever saw.

Not to beat a subject to death or anything. . . She was on some Discovery Channel program last night where they measured her body fat (16%), showed some videos of her jugging the Nose and speedclimbing comps. The narration said she was the best "all-around" climber in the world. They divided climbing into four categories of which I can only remember two (dyno and speed) but none of which occurred on real rock. Is this some kind of comp thing? They also noted that she grew up in Africa with a monkey as a pet and that she developed incredible finger strength from following this monkey around. They also did close-ups of her hands. Egads she got some seriously absurd looking fingers. Discuss.
