So it sounds as though the Monday night timeframe was picked up by others and passed around, through word of mouth. Considering this I am suggesting that the plan go forward with the original date of Monday @ 7ish. A thought would be to have this as an open ended event. Weekly, monthly or whatever which would open the opportunity to those who are not able to attend this one.

Brewpub Meeting @ Elizabeth Station Bellingham

Works for me Tuesday 7ish. -
Why not make a weekly thing out of it? Those who can make it and want to can show up and if they cannot one week then there would be the next week open. It would be kind of fun to touch base with folks and talk about what people have done or are planning to do. And imagine, this could be REAL face to face interaction with ACTUAL people without the BS of internet posturing and all that jazz. Maybe a renaissanceof the Ludites?

The average deaths from rock climbing over the past 50 years is 25 deaths per year. The number of deaths from rock climbing varies significantly each year, do to popularity shift and technological advances. During the last ten years, the most fatalities in a year were 35 climbing deaths in 2004, while 2001 recorded 16. 1976 recorded the largest amount of deaths at 53. 2010 is expected to have 30 deaths contributed to rock climbing. This part is true. The rest is bullshit, I think Burchey nailed it but I would add that your parents, friends and family DO care.

I really felt as the birth of my daughter approached, two years ago that I would scale back and maybe pick objectives that were more "safe". I have found though in practice this is not the case. What I have found to be the case however, is being entirely present with my spouse and daughter while at home and not climbing and increasing my insurance coverage. I would add this quote form the end of your linked article that I feel is poignant: "Everything in life is a risk of some sort," with some climbers killed or injured just driving home from the cliffs. "Climbing holds can break unexpectedly, but lightning also strikes. Most people exist so swaddled against danger, measuring out their lives with coffee spoons, that those who reckon by a different calculation of risk and reward appear insane. Yet to survive a perilous situation is to love life more than the average person can imagine."

Brewpub Meeting @ Elizabeth Station Bellingham
Tyson.g replied to Tyson.g's topic in Climbing Partners
Yep, Curt is a great partner. Wise too. Not to mention he looks good in photos especialy when wearing coordinated outfits with his partner. Prime Rib -
My posted example is exactly my end user experience. IE 9 for Windows 7
-
the only issue I am having with this otherwise awesome search tool is that I cannot seem to clear my previous results. Example: I serched for Prime Rib and got a great list of results but then I try and manipulate another field after clearing the route name field of Prime Rib but I get 0 results but if I clear the new text in the field my Prime Rib results show up again..... Just me? Quite possibly.

Been seeing people looking for partners in the Bellingham area. Thought I would throw out a Brewpub call for anyone in the area looking for partners/carpooling ideas and general hob nobbing. Elizabeth Station is a great new spot in Bellingham and it looks like there is general interest in meeting on: Monday July 9th @ 7pm ish. Come meet some new folks and support a great new business!

I am in. Monday @ 7ish, Elizabeth Station.

seems like it may be time for a Brewclub meeting for all Bellinghamsters interested in finding new partners and carpooling options. I propose a rendevous at Elizabeth Station for a beer and some hob nobbing. anyone want to throw out suggestions for the timing of a meet up? I am free after 7pm m-f
