  1. Favorite line of the TR: "started apologizing profusely, weeping and blubbering like a schizophrenic on a bad acid trip. I didn't want to say the wrong thing, so I just wrung out my sweaty shirt into our empty nalgene bottle, took a swig and offered him a drink, which he accepted gratefully."

    Enjoy!!

Nice man! One of my favorite aspects as a parent was your hushed encouragment behind the camera. Awesome! Congrats to your son!

  4. Take skis, all that road walking is a bitch, especially in slow shoes.
  5. All good points. I have had and enjoyed the guide tennies and would have to say that I never did roll my ankle in those. Lower/thinner sole than the Boulder X, especially in the heel area. I found them good enough to climb comfortably in the 5.7/8 range. I have to wonder if the same would be true in a mid top shoe. I suppose I could always consider continuing to wrap the ankle if I was really worried about it, although I have not had too in quite a while. Anyway, thanks for the input.
  6. Ah, gene is a good egg and if anyone deserves s good ribbing I am a good candidate. You do have a point about the road under the snow lad.
  7. I was wearing my boulder x's when I really rolled it good. To the tune of going on 9 months of pt exercise and still only 80%. I could agree with the center of gravity thought.
  8. So I am looking for something a little kinder to my roll prone ankles and am considering one of the choices offered by 5.10. Ayone have any experience with either of these or maybe an option I have not thought of. I have had the guide tennies and am a big fan although they were not the most durable of shoes. I currently have been using a pair of Boulder x's but the toe box is slightly uncomfotable for me and neither of these shoes is offereing me the ankle support I am looking for. Any thoughts?
