  1. No kidding, with the recalcitrant hive mind around this place, it is a wonder anyone posts anything. Sad. Best of luck and glad you have stoke......maybe that is the cause of all the hating? Lack of passion and stoke by the others? Who knows but yeah, flee this cesspool.
  2. Accurate and funny.....A friend of mine but accurate none the less.
  3. One of the most awesome videos EVER! Thank you so much for sharing, I watched this yesterday (linked from TAY) and had a grin from ear to ear for the rest of the day. Great cinematography, excellent music choices and just flipping awesome!!! Nice work!!!
  4. Anyone remember the little store in Verlot (not Green Gables) that was right next to the Verlot Campground? It was torn down in the 80's or 90's. It was after the FS Ranger Station but before the turn off to Pilchuck. I am asking for any stories or anecdotes regarding this store in particular. I spent a few years of my childhood living there and my mom ran the store for Don and Sharon Engster. I recall that back in the day my mom used to cook turkeys in our wood fired oven for folks who were up playing in the snow on Pilchuck and they would pick them up as well as a loaf of her homemade bread on the way back through. I would love to get any stories from folks that may remember the store or my mom. Thanks for the thought. Tyson
  5. Did you climb the Couloir in the first photo? I am confused. I have never heard of it taking 6 raps to exit the SW Couloir.
  6. A good way to get it in is to try and use a Vanilla flavored variety and mix it with yogurt and frozen fruit. Kind of turns to a frozen yogurt and fruit Ice Cream substitute. Worked for me while I was using it but then again my food choices have been commented on as odd by some.
  7. I am a huge fan of the information Petzl puts out there. A great resource. Most useful equipment catalogues out there. Thanks for posting this up.
  8. I'm always looking for ski partners but I am an every other weekend guy. Up for a little climbing too, but not when the snow is on the ground Feel free to PM. I'll say Curtveld is a great partner and more than competent climber.
  9. Indeed... In particular this type of climber.... "local hardmen (women) with real jobs who go out and crush in their free time and post TRs here and then go back to work on Monday." I got to climb for a year with my hero and it was awesome!!! RIP Chris.
  10. I agree. Nice write up on the blog. Very mature evaluation of the incident. Good on you man, way to keep thinking and living.
  11. That was the sweetest free lift I have ever taken. I laughed thinking about him envisioning having schooled me and sent me on my way......to walk the road....as I just rode right on down into line and onto the diesel powered chariot..... Thanking him the whole time for leading me down this path of crime... I thouroghly enjoyed the experience.
  12. I knew who I was dealing with. I am a polite fella and I have always had similar feelings of every interaction I have had with the "gentleman" over the past seven years. Not one to push a point, but I did look into their published "mountain safety guidelines" as well and their is nothing stating it is against policy.
  13. For what it's worth, skinning up anything but the normal Table Mountain / Artist Point area at Baker is frowned upon. Heavily. On high avy danger days and when solo, I like to skin up to Pan Dome via the Austin Cat Track and have been doing so for a few years with no incident. Following the signage "uphill traffic stay far right". I did as usual yesterday and decided to ski down towards the Ravens Hut. I stopped above the hut and transitioned and then began ascending the cat track uphill back toward Heather Meadows. I was stopped by an older "gentleman" and told I needed to descend and walk/hitchike the road back to Heather Meadows. I expressed my belief that the idea seemed more dangerous than what I was doing. I was told to descend. I thanked the gentleman for his hospitality. I then skied down and got on Chair 6 as I made the decision that, that would be the "safest" option. Thanks for the ride sir.
  14. I would take the bindings if you are willing to split. $$$??? for bindings only?
  15. Would love to get this little guy back. If you happen to be the Subaru parked a bit higher than the Goat Mtn TH last Saturday and you happened to find this gem please let me know. TIA
  16. See how many "bald"s you can find. Not to worry, have fun and welcome!
  17. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Sherpa brand. YMMV but my convertible pants, zip-t and microfleece lined soft shell pants have held up extremely well.
