  4. i have one, my buddy has one - but there shouldn't be any law that tells you that you need one. i do think they're a good thing to have though.

  6. i had to use the spot unit back in May on Mt. Shuksan. It sent the rescuers off course to a point where we were about a half mile away from. They found us but it wasn't as precise as we hoped. I'd recommend the ACR units as they seem more reliable and heavy duty. Plus they don't have an annual fee, however they are more expensive...

  13. How is the south route on mt hood in early december? I'm wanting to do it but i'm not a fan of scree shit so i figured that with the snowfall in november and the clear weather for the next week, it may turn into a decent route, pending a good avalanche forecast... What do you think?

  17. looks cool, was anyone up there climbing to the top of baker? did you get a look at the Coleman-Deming route? If you did, did it looks do-able?

  21. Me and my climbing partner want to see if anybody wants to climb Mt. Baker (Coleman, Deming Route) with us tomorrow night. We'll leave Tuesday Night around 10PM from the trailhead, and summit by Sunrise - then make our way down and back to the car. Car 2 Car - we might sleep a bit in the parking lot before we leave but we plan to leave around 10pm to 11pm on Tuesday - I live in seattle and can drive you up if you want to join. Let me know.
