  1. That's rich coming from you, who in all probability haven't found an imperial war of aggression you didn't like. Obviously you didn't read the piece--and haven't heard of Charles Tilly. Remember, pretending to have read isn't the same as actually reading. Why should he? 99.8% of the population disagrees with its stance....
  2. Yokels like the ~ 75% of public opinion that oppose all attempts at doing away with SS. Extremist. 75% huh? Is that similar to your "stat" saying that 50% were impoverished or near impoverished. Please, J_B try that shit on someone else. Were your poll numbers taken from AARP members; or your ass?
  3. How could I guess J_B was in favor of a money suck-hole. How much security will that net provide me J_B. How much have I contributed into it? Some safety net. I have managed to provide for my own retirement DESPITE SS not because of it. You are likely in favor of it because I am still paying into it for your ancient ass. Hmmm. If I were to put all the money that I put into SS into modest return funds, what would give me better security for my future? The fact that you yokels still think that this is something to pursue and not something we are stuck with astounds me.
  4. Not like anything will change with has fat-assed, batt-shit crazy son in the chute...
  5. The census bureau calls it 13ish%. I am sure that to you, anyone within $100,000/year of the poverty line is close enough to call "near poverty level;" at least for argument's sake.
  6. According to my random definition of what poverty means, 99.687% on the U.S. is impoverished. This relative poverty is getting out of control. Perhaps if 88.3945% of those who are "impoverished" simply used their i-Pad's to find jobs instead of reading that smarmy economist rag, they could pull themselves up by their bootstraps and ascend!
  7. Colorado Springs local, let me know if you want to get after it and what you are thinking of. I will know if I have off sometime later this week.

    WTF!!

    Uh... yeah.
  9. This shit happened to me, that dog would have received the same treatment. Our dogs are given rank (higher than ours) and are brave and awesome Americans. If you think I am going to let an aggressive, loose and potentially rabid dog take a chunk out of my highly trained pooch while on restraint, you have another thing coming....
  10. Many of those stories seem rather abrasive when they are really not. I am no BW Xe whatever apologist, but all of the dogs in Iraq are diseased and many if not most a rabid. Shooting dogs that get too close was more SOP than war crime. Also, with regards to the shooting at vehicles addition; it is very odd when a vehicle drives up to an armored vehicle loaded with machine guns and has signs in 5 languages to stay back x-amount of meters. Many suicide bombers would simply drive their vehicle up alongside the vehicles and self-detonate. Like I said, never have been one to defend BW but much of this is taken out of context and to read it without an Iraqi primer is useless and misleading.
  11. I am sure this young man learned early in the Corps, that you CAN be guilty by association and WILL pay for the actions of those which you choose to surround yourself. Pity it happened, but actions have consequences.

    A New Fight

Weren't you fuckers complaining about us NOT sending in troops for Awlahi? You guys just love to bitch; don't you?
  15. Except their "decisions" have no bearing on the rest of the World. Just an excuse to blow off work and get high with their buddies anyways...
  16. I am sure your parents or grandparents or grand-grandparents were from native tribes. Because if not they should have been sent back packing. It's completely and utterly hypocritical for people to complain about "illegal immigrants", while their ancestors were just as illegal. Btw, it's not Mexicans, who moved to Southern California- it's the US, who moved the border. But I guess it's easier to stick to talking points for someone with IQ of a 5 year olds. Now fuck off clownpunching maggot. I WIN! Not really fair; It's like taking candy from a foul mouthed, quad 8 year old child with down syndrome and the attention span of kev.
  17. We know that how, exactly? Or was he just a loudmouth we really didn't like? And therein lies the rub. That's precisely why due process exists...to keep those with all the guns from bullshitting us. It's not some high and mighty ideal, it's the cornerstone of who we are, with every day, nuts and bolts ramifications. Do I think this incident was exceptional? Yes. The end of civilization as we know it? No. Was the preacher a royal prick? It would seem so. (most, if not all, fundy preachers are, regardless of stripe). Am I starting to sound like Rumsfeld? Probably. Frankly, I don't believe in American exceptionalism, nor do I believe that our citizens should be afforded any different human rights than anyone else. People are people. Well, some are, anyway. OBL was just a wee bit of a different case, however. The comparison is, well, idiotic, really. Something about the home movies he made about himself and all that. And claiming responsibility for 911. You know, small stuff. This guy denied much of the wrongdoing our government has accused him of. Hmmm..... They guy was driving down a desert road with another tool in an SUV. Wow. Tough operation to pick him up. Sounds like it woulda required a whole division at least. Look, I know it's fashionable to wax hyperbolic in the military. It's fun. But come on. Get real. How long do you think it would take to get authorization to go in? How many people in that country would be notified? How many would leak information. I am telling you from experience that these issues make such snatch and grabs "difficult" if not impossible. Of all the high end operatives we have gone after, the only one that was done with boots on the ground was OBL and this was likely more of a political decision than a tactical one. I would love to be able to snatch HVT's but the reality is that we are not able to simply fly into another country's airspace and put operators on the ground. Why they let us drop JDAMS and use Spectre fire is above my level, but I know first hand the issues in dealing with nations with serious intelligence leaks and trying to put together a complex time sensitive op while racing the clock before the targets are notified by the host nation's government. So you're saying 'throw civil liberties out the window because it's too much paperwork?' We're not working with the Yemeni govt? We don't have CIA etc in Yemen now? I don't buy it. I've heard all the same arguments before, and they always turn out to be just more bullshit. Just because we are working with the Yemeni government (kind of) doesn't mean that they would allow an "invasion" on their soil. For some reason, the occasional bomb doesn't irk their sense of soveirenty, but boots on the ground does. As I said earlier, just because SOME in the government are working with us doesn't mean that all of them are. If not every single person briefed is on board (and in Muslim countries, everyone needs to be briefed it seems) leaks happen and U.S. lives are in danger of at very least a dry hole and on the extreme end, an ambush.
  18. Ft. Hood. Attempt in Detroit among others. Masterminding one mass murder and attempting another couple... quite the resume.
  19. I would love to. Problem is, I will be inserted into a dry hole.

  21. YES So it's all down to money, huh? Amazing how cheap some of us will sell our Constitional principles. But we're all about the money...the rest of the world knows that by now. If the govt has a good case against him, they'll win it. If not...they shouldn't be in the biz of executing him, no? And as far as risking lives go...last time I checked, the draft was still inactive. Don't want the job? Don't sign up for it. Signed up for it and don't wanna do it? Well, cry me a river. The job you signed up for is to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. Do it. Its not money, capturing an enemy HVT is a huge operation usually necessitating the leaders of the country the mission will take place. This means leaks are likely and the chance for the mission even going is unlikely and success a great improbability. I, for one, am glad that I wasn't called to conduct that raid. Dissapointment or death would be the only two options that I would face.
  22. So, the man who was the regional commander to Al Qaeda, you know, our enemy is not fair game because he was an American? I am sure Walker was just a tourist in Southern Afghanistan partying it up for spring break too. Why have you not argued for other Al Qaeda commanders that were killed? What is the difference? Al Qaeda is an international terrorist agency with no regards to sovereignty or international law. By assuming such a high role in this agency is and of itself an act of war and a statement that surely negates protection as an American.
  23. Says you. Do you have any idea the amount of dry holes we have had because of host nation leaks? How many times do you think we knew where bin Laden was before we killed him? Give you a hint, a whole lot more than 1. Speaking of bin Laden, should we have captured him instead of "assassinating" him? Have you any idea the amount of personnel/risk that an HVT capture mission presents? This is not the first and it will not be the last.
  24. Thought crime is a long jump to treason, terrorism, murder and genocide dontchya think?
