  1. Worth bringing some skis? or not?
  2. Ahh, the Spearhead! Did you complete it? Yes! Great trip despite a day or so of wild weather.
  3. Looks like Chiwawa in the picture. Very sweet pics John - congrats on completing such a glorious adventure. Glad you got out there in good window of weather! Wish I had all that sun on the Spearhead Traverse.
  4. Wonderful pics and nice TR. Sigh, brings back some great memories of my neve trip in '96! Only we had a bit more clouds and wind but your weather looed to be spectacular.
  5. Hey JMO, I agree with mmd! The XGK has a wider fuel line/preheats fuel better and will burn a variety of fuels more effeciently with less chance of clogging the line. Also, it works better for higher altitudes. Very easy to maintain. Teresa
  6. True. She is often in Vancouver, BC and the surrounding vicinity as she has several skiers she coaches in that area. Alot of what she does is to monitor the athletes via the internet and spreadsheet profiles. I am sure there are some great resources closer but she has worked with a several climbers and works with endurance athletes. Cheers!
  7. My girlfriend, Margaret Waechter, has trained a number of athletes including Steve House. Her personal background is that of a national team skier in Canada. She is originally from Canada but now lives in Winthrop, WA.

    WTF Goldbar?

Yes, turning from Hwy 2 down my street in Leavenworth, unless someone is gracious enough to let me in or out, can be an inconvience. I really feel for the medic and fire truck drivers having to weave through Leavenworth because folks on a busy weekend won't get out of the f**king way (excuse my French but a neighbor had to wait 15 - 20 minutes for the medic to get to our street and it is at most 5 minutes away). Many folks took Hwy 2 this last Sunday due to the info. on the recorded DOT radio that Snoqualmie was closed (1 or 2 lanes) for avalanche control?!
  9. I've always enjoyed alpine climbing and backcountry skiing but due to a bad neck injury I was in to much pain. Found out a disk in my neck was pressing on my spinal column so carrying much of any kind of pack was out and climbing/cragging really stirred things up. But I've always loved mtn. biking so started pursuing that more but that started aggrevating things. Just getting into the mountains doing anything is what I crave. So, after a few years of therapy, injections, etc. and 7 years later I am slowly getting back out to the crags, doing some bc ski trips, and a few alpine trips each year. Keeping in shape by getting outside biking, running, nordic skiing etc. has kept/keeps me sane when I can't do much else. Also, some friends who are willing to carry more of the rack, rope, or extra gear really helps .
  10. Hey pink, How cum your not out climbing on your birthday?!? Out late last night? I am heading out soon - the sun is shining here in Leavenworth! :kisss: Enjoy your day!!
  11. Any rub on wax works well but applying it before the skins start to retain moisture. This time of year I apply before I start skinning up and go against the grain as well as with. Spray on works good but only if applied on dry skins.
  12. Got an enjoyable job (though working way to much lately), great guy, suns out here in Leavenworth and as soon as it warms up from the 29 degrees on the thermometer I am heading out for a trail run and then climbing. Oh, Bug I tried the steam bath with Eucalyptus and it helped but still congested.

  17. Mmmmm! You mean Homefires Cherry pie, right? ... Homefires Cherry pie ala mode!
  18. Cool! Easy as pie.
  19. "Spray is a great part of a healthy breakfast" BUMP to climbing partners.
  20. I was thrilled to hear of his sprint win and I know the whole Wenatchee community is pumped for him!
  21. Hope there is never a time limit on calling oneself or being called a girl
  22. Hey Sergei, Yes those work great, especially partial to the Toko Gel Clean . However the skins and skin glue really don't like that noxious stuff close to them and it will tend to absorb into the climbing skin a bit to much and challenging to get all of it out. The old squeeze bottle gel clean works best but the spray (if your careful)should work to. Just use very sparingly and use a small paint brush. Teresa

    The Goal

What would happen if you took that blue pill with coffee??
  24. Actually was up there last weekend. As of Saturday there was intermitent patches of pavement for the first 2 miles and then pretty much solid snow up to the main trailhead for Colchuck/Stuart. Though it was snowing pretty good on Saturday as we were coming out - down to the cars.
  25. CN - Glad to hear you err on the side of caution when it comes to conserving body hair. Besides, isn't there a chance the ping-pong ball will adhere to the competitors chest and therefore the point will have to be replayed?
