I tore the ligaments (sprained) my ankle pretty badly coming out of The Enchantments in August and it's still really stiff and painful. I agree that tape (and good boots with ankle support) help and can get you out there, but I also suggest good, solid help from a sports injury specialist if you want to avoid chronic tightness and pain. Ankle "specialists" blew me off, too. Once I got my cast off, they said I was cured, but I still have a lot of tightness and pain. Try Jeff Robinson. He's awesome. His number is 503-593-7640.
