  1. One word: Netflix.
  2. It already is.
  3. Aren't nearly all news media funded by advertising? Ban that, and you've got wholly owned corporate media and government run media. Hmmmm...... You can always turn Little Johnny's fucking PC/TV off. Now there's a thought.
  4. The ACLU did tackle Citizens United: we argued in favor of that non-profit's right to free speech. That the Supreme Court extended that ruling to lift restrictions on corporate contributions to uncoordinated campaigns was, of course, far outside the ACLU's limited 1st amendment agenda. The organization is still discussing its policy on contributions as speech in light of the new ruling. The ACLU is currently focused (and fully booked up - thank you JayB for actually recognizing real world constraints for once) on drug policy reform, privacy, equal protection for committed couples, and several other issues more core to a human rights focus than property rights.
  5. Bitchez.
  6. As far as I know, no policy or press releases have been issued on this issue from the ACLU. The ACLU has weighed in on the Health Care Bill's restrictions on abortion and funding of abstinence-only education. Generally, there are other groups that are more on top of property rights issues in general and the commerce clause in particular. The ACLU's primary agenda focus lies elsewhere.
  7. God Hates Fags.
  8. Kudos to the health insurance industry here. Amazing lobbying job.
  9. Anyone think the 'denial of coverage' provisions are gonna last at this point?
  10. Basically, the health insurance industry said 'open wide' and the Democrats promised to swallow.
  11. Dr. John Gottman's book The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work is a good start for making sense of a confusing situation. Might be a good thing to read together. Gottman's 30+ years of research indicates that successful, long term relationships require 5 or more positive interactions for every negative one. What constitutes positive or negative is individual, of course.
  12. I hear West African diamonds are a safe bet, too.
  13. Thanks all you gold 'investors'!
  14. Perhaps you should start your own thread for your groupies to pic a new sig line for you. Hey, sorry neither one of you contestants won. We can't all be winners.
  15. Worry not. Your participation doesn't make an already interesting legal fight any more so.
  16. And so goes the greatest government to corporate blowjob in history...other than military spending, of course. Bush's first round of completely uncontrolled bailout wasn't too bad, either.
  17. The profit motive needs to be removed from areas where it creates a basic conflict of interest. Health care, for basic humanitarian reasons, is one of those areas. Primary public oversight and control of such a critical social function should also be instituted through government. Right now we've got an inefficiency clusterfuck with costs running out of control even as profits do the same.
  18. If you can afford to "retire" at age 50, you were not taxed enough, and have obviously cheated and screwed over those less fortunate than you. Cough it up. You wannabes hate it when a libtard beats you at your own fetish game LOL.
  19. What I enjoy most about being hyper wealthy is the arm candy.
  20. It's the little things that make life worth living.
  21. My art collection is priceless.
  22. JayB: I'm looking for a driver, BTW.
  23. For the independently wealthy who eschew both the bourgeois and the boutique: Go Aquasox!
  24. where do you come up with this? Guesstimate. Plug the age/assets into online annuity quote thingies or monte-carlo simulators and it'll probably give you a figure in this ballpark. what a bullshitter you are. LOL Even JayB's caught the groupie thang. What's he BUILDING in there?
  25. One must stop seeking enlightenment to attain it.
